My Writing: Chapter 22

Okay, after reading this Chapter and rewriting some paragraphs, I can finally move on to the next Chapter.

Chapter 22: The Truth
“Where did she go!” Bailey exclaimed.
“Wait a minute!” Mordred channeled into space. His eyes slapped opened. He realized where she was. “D***** !” His English accent was stronger now.
Arthur kept his comment to himself.
“She is in Nottingham.”
“Go find my cousin or help me.” Bailey roared.
Mordred grabbed Bailey by his shirt collar. “Listen here Bailey it won’t be simple.”
“Mordred?” Gibson glanced towards Mordred.
“She is in Sherwood Forest before the change.”
“Oh no.” Gibson glanced away.
“D*****, I have to do something.” Bailey muttered.
“No!” A female voice exclaimed. The sweet smell of roses filled the air. As she stepped from the dark corner of the office. She wore a sea green gown. A silver crown with tiny diamonds were upon her forehead. Her auburn hair reached her waistline. Upon her forearm a griffin appeared.
“Sarah, how can you be here?” Gibson asked.
“Do not worry.” She met his dark brown eyes. “Verona must learn the truth.”
“If she does not, My Lady.” Bailey bowed to the Guardian of Mystic Lake.
“Oh, she will. Is not that right, Aaron?” She whispered to Aaron stood silent, “You always known her, now go. Our old enemy is after her.”
The blue mist formed around Aaron. How did she?
Mordred glanced towards the spot his friend stood, “Who are you?”
“A friend.” She glanced towards Arthur. “She will return to the present, you must not interfere, Arthur.”
“Why?” He could not lose his Guinevere.
You cannot lose someone who was never yours. A distant voice echoed.
An eerie thought cross Mordred mind now, “Verona holds the..”
Don’t say it! A voice echoed. He stared towards the mysterious woman now.
“I see you learned.” Sarah noticed a change in Arthur. Oh, I understand now.
“Verona can travel through time.” Gibson murmured.
“Sherwood Forest Guardian.” Arthur glared towards his cousin. “Why did you not mention this.”
“Grandmother spoken to you?”
“Grandmother!” No way. Vivian! “How?”
“It is hard to explain.” She glanced towards the one with the Falcon around him. “You’re one of the Wisdom stone’s guardian.”
“Yes, My Lady.” Bailey replied, “Is Verona in danger?”
“No, she will be safe with Aaron.” Mordred could not believe his old allied had an upper hand in their faith. “But we may be in trouble.”
“What does that mean!” Arthur exclaimed.
“D****t Arthur!” Bailey exclaimed, “Aaron is the Unknown Warrior.” He glanced towards Mordred, “What is Verona connection to him?”
“Mordred doesn’t know Bailey.” Sarah turned towards Arthur, “He whom walk throughout time.”
“If you say one more word Sarah Ann.” A male voice roar, “I will disown you.”
She smiled, “Cannot disown a guardian, Grandfather.”
“No, but what must happen must be.” The stern answered
“Your lies will free us.” Sarah waved her hands into space.
“So be it.” He mumbled.
“Was that Merlin?” Gibson asked, puzzled.
“I see you remember him.” She turned towards Arthur now. “Verona is not whom we’ve known from our time.”
“Why do you call her, Verona?” Arthur asked.
Guinevere is dead to our world. Her eyes answered.
“No, Verona is M-Guinevere.” Mordred caught his mistake.
“Yes.” She glanced towards Gibson.
“The Forest will destroy her, as it did to Robin when you vanished.”
“No, it will not.” Sarah replied, “People and things may change throughout time. But their soul and spirit remains the same.”
“The forest will recognize her.” Mordred felt the tension between her and Gibson, “She has blue flame within her.”
Her eyes widen.“She does not.. Oh, Mother!”
She waved her hands.“We will meet each other once more.”
“You did not say what Aaron connection is to us?” Arthur asked.
“Guinevere, Nicholas and Lancelot has connection to him.”She whispered.
“Lancelot?” Arthur looks stunned, “He is not in this time.
“Correction he should be here!” Bailey exclaimed without him nothing is safe. “Did something happen to Lancelot?”
“Verona gave Lancelot, her ring.” Arthur stated.
“No.” Bailey mumbled, “A pink ring was Celtic design?”
“Yes.” Arthur replied.
Bailey looked towards Sarah, “You know what this mean.”
“The truth will come out at last.” She replied.
“What does that mean?” Tristan asked, “Is Aaron an enemy?”
“No.” Aaron was the one who saved him many years ago.
“He is trouble.” Bailey roared, “Now someone, Please explain?”
“Oh, just our worlds…” Mordred lifted his shot glass filled with whiskey. “Oh, answer that Bailey,”
His cell phone rang. “Hello, What!” His eyes narrowed, “Get everyone together, inform Eric Mason.”
Mordred skin crawled by the name of a Shape shifter. Tristan growled.  “Bailey, you surprise me.”
“Why is innocent people vanishing.” Bailey met Mordred sober expression.
“Oh, great.” Gibson mumbled. He glanced towards Tristan.
Okay, I wanted make this chapter more intriguing with  more clues to Verona, whom seems to have more secrets. While Merlin/Arthur keeps his secrets well hidden for now.

Now, to the next Chapter before I find something else to delete again.

My Writing: Chapter 12

Okay, I have to admit this chapter was the hardest one to rewrite. Yes, rewrite I was reading the paragraph over and realized something was missing.

Ever wrote out a scene and slowly new characters makes their grant appearance? Well, two new characters made their appearance.  I was just writing out scene 15 and 16 when these two characters began to form. I might leave them in this Chapter for now. But never know with me. As for errors I may have overlooked some.

Chapter 12: Secrets ( I have to change this title)
Lancelot was just about to leave when he turned towards me with puzzled expression. “This is an unusually ring.” he said, “Where did you get this lovely ring?”
I had to think for a moment an image of a short, tanned, curly brunette girl came into mind, “Please promise me to keep this ring safe for all time, Verona.”
As fast as the image came, it faded quickly. Drain was how I felt.  “It belonged to a dear friend, whom would have wanted you to keep it safe.”
Safe from what? A distance voice asked.
Why did I have this feeling a piece of puzzle was missing here. I ignore this cold eerie feeling.
“Lancelot, time is an essence.” Merlin said in a bold tone.
“Oh yes,” Lancelot said, then in a whisper, “Good luck you’ll need it, Verona.”
He crossed the doorway very slowly and meet Merlin, “Keep my dear cousin safe, Merlin.” he said in a sober tone. I never actually heard him speak this way before. There was coldness in his eyes.  “Don’t get into trouble.”
Merlin stared towards his friend’s back then towards me. His blue eyes looked puzzled for a moment. “Here is a change of clothing.”
He handed me, a pair of tan trouser and a very large white silk shirt. I met his concerned eyes, “Was I asleep that long?” I asked.
He took my hands into his large rough hands now, “Yes, you were in a very deep sleep.” He brought my hand to his lips and gentle place a kiss in my left palm.  “I will be out in the hallway, if you need anything just call.”
I met his questionable eyes, “I will be fine.” I said with a tight smile.
Once Merlin was out the door I quickly slipped out of my dress and into the outfit,Merlin had on hand. Strange, why did these clothing look modern. It even had a tag inside of the shirt. Oh no, this wasn’t from this era. I wonder. Could he travel through time travel?  I thought looking into the large mirror.
You asks now watch and learn , Verona. A female’s voice said.
Imagines began to play out in the large mirror in the corner of the room; however, each time I tried to focus on one imagine  another would form.  The feeling of watching a movie came to mind. Instead of going forward the imagines where going backwards.  Until it came to a stop in the garden I was in last evening.
I recognized Morganna and.. No, it cannot be Merlin! I thought.
Look closely and listen. A tiny voice  whispered in my right ear.
He wasn’t Merlin!
“The poison should have killed her, Morganna.” a dark haired stranger with an odd accent said, “I’ll find another way.”
My breath became shallow.  A blue mist formed within the mirror,  an old oak tree appeared, next to it stood a beautiful bluish gray wolf with golden eyes staring back towards me. Standing next this beautiful creature, was a very tall evenly tanned stranger with long hair as  black as the night. His sea green eyes stared back toward me.  However, I did not know him.
“You’re ready to learn the truth, my sweet.” His words made my skin crawl with uncertainly.
My breath became shallow.  Blue mist formed within the mirror once more.  An enormous old oak tree appeared now, next to it stood a beautiful bluish gray wolf with golden eyes, which  stared back towards me. Standing next this beautiful creature was a very tall evenly tanned stranger with long, black haired and glowing sea green eyes.
“You’re ready to learn the truth, my sweet.” His words made my skin crawl with uncertainly.
Golden Runic symbols were engraved around this  oak trees. Where was I? This place made my eyes tear up. I know this place. (I might keep this part and add more details.)
Look within, you’ll remember. A distance voice echoed.
A knock came at the door Merlin re-entered. He gasped, “What’s wrong?”
Drain and paled  I looked away from the mirror. “Oh nothing.” I mumbled avoiding his eyes.
My eyes widen for a moment I saw something dark and sinister behind him. My hand went my mouth.
Merlin did not see what she saw but he felt a strong presence of some kind in the room. Without alerting Verona, whom  behavior was puzzling now. “If you’re ready we must be going.”  (Okay, I well be rewording this part again.)
“Sure.” I whispered, my pickle up. “Where did you get these clothing?”
“Oh, I just had them around.” he mumbled in a sober tone. Without another comment we left the room.
Something caught my eyes as I crossed the threshold. The mirror suddenly vanished into thin air.  I ran right into Merlin’s hard lean back.  He swung around with this dangerous glance. “Verona this..What is wrong?” he asked.
“That mirror just vanished.” I said breathless.
What mirror? There was no mirror in his chamber. “Please describe this mirror to me?”
“A Cherry oak wood frame , with leaves carves on the top and bottom.” I said, “And…”
“Were there any inscription in silver on the sides?”  His heart was beating faster, he knew only of one mirror. However, his friend guarded it now.
“Yes, Runic Letters.” I said. He looked surprised.
“How do you know of those symbols?” he asked.
“I have always known those symbols.” I said walking away, “Could we leave now?”
He stared towards her. She was hiding something.
Oh, will you be able to face the truth when it’s reveal?

Okay, I wanted to make this Chapter intriguing by adding a mysterious  mirror, two new characters and a clue to Verona. Now, I am  moving on, before I decide to start editing and rewriting this Chapter once more.

Have a nice weekend.  🙂

My Writing: Oh, No Missing Chapters!

Okay, after a few minor setback in my writing, I think I can get back to my Chapters.  As for minor setback. Picture editing a few chapters and suddenly realize two important Chapters are missing.

Oh yes, this happened to me.  I told myself not worry, I have it in my rough drafts folder on my computer.

I opened  this  folder went through the chapters. Now, I was starting to worry,  I could not find it nowhere.  I did eventually find the rough draft copy.

It was the last place,  I  did not want it to be in. Now, I am glad I do not empty my recycle bin often. Or I would not be a happy camper.

Anyway, here is a recap of  Chapter 3,( I rewrote this chapter about four times now. However, this is the last time I will posting it. Unless I find something wrong again. But never know with me.

A recap of Chapter 3 : Rivals
A knock came at the door,  Merlin  stood with a small jar in hand. His eyes glance my way only for a moment.
Was that a spark of interest? I thought shaking the idea. His face became red with fury.
“What is this?” Merlin roared out. Never in his years of knowing Elaine had she ever done something so childish as this.
“The clothing Lady Guinevere said to bring.” she said bluntly.
“Ah, I see.” His eyes went astray towards her chest, turning towards Elaine. “This is not  a proper outfit for a young maiden from a respectful family, nor is she a tavern maiden, Elaine!” His blue eyes met her eyes,  she backed away suddenly. “Now be gone.”
Her eyes matched his glare before heading out the door.
Pig headed fool! “Y-yes oh, great one.” she bowed, hurrying away. Nearly bumped into Lancelot.
“Hey, Lana wait up.” Lancelot said, puzzled, carrying velvet green dress, with a well dress woman. “Look who I found.”
“Oh, Duchess Joan, this is an honor.” Merlin said, placing a kiss on the side of her face.
“Merlin.” she said flatly.
Her tight mouth held a disapproving  gaze towards Merlin. She did not seemed old, her facial feature revealed, a youthful face and something else, I could not place.
Look deeper my Dear. A woman’s voice said.
“Oh wow, I mean. Who brought you those clothing, dear cousin?” he asked stunned.
“Lady Guinevere thought it would be nice on me.” I said tightly and uncomfortable now as the older woman stared at me or was it my necklace.
“I think these are much better, dear,” she said with a kind smile.“Hmm…,my dear granddaughter does not know nice clothes when she sees it.”
And do you! A female voice echoed in the distance of my mind.
A look of puzzlement cross her face, “Oh, Thank you my Lady.” I mumbled.
“You’re welcome.” the Duchess said, “I will be honored to have you for tea this afternoon.”
I could not help noticing  Merlin and Lancelot looked surprise.
“If she is up to walking, that is?” she asked glaring towards both men.
“Oh yes, will you have tea in the garden?” Merlin asked warmly.
What was going on! The room was freezing! I glanced towards Merlin, who kept his gaze on the Duchess.
“Hmm, the garden will nice.” she said smoothly.
Why was he protecting me? I notice Lancelot glance his way now. There was something odd about him or was it that he reminded me of my… I cannot remember whom.
“That does sound good, since she has been up here for a whole  day.” Lancelot said, “But will your ladies in waiting wonder about my cousin bruises?”
“Oh no, I will make sure Lady Veronica and Maria act ladylike.” she said frankly, “However, you how teens like to act. I will leave you now, dear.”
“Let me see your hand.” Merlin said boldly, his eyes however, roamed towards  my chest.
Obeying, I gave him my hand as he passed the ointment over my bruised, the smell of mint and menthol. I felt like I was drifting back to sleep.
“Easy Verona,” he said concern now. “Lancelot tell the cook to fix some food and tea for your cousin.”
“I will.” Lancelot said, “While I am at it, I will find out what was bothering Lana.”
“This outfit is why she was upset.” Merlin said, “Guinevere has no respect for your cousin’s reputation.” Pausing, “You know her grandmother will spread rumors around.”
Lancelot knew that tone in his old friend’s voice and  was ready for anything from a frog or a cat. His friend  two favorite spells However, his friend would not do any of this in front of this young woman.
He knew right off, what his friend was thinking and pondered a spell of coldness.
****
I was waiting for  fists to be thrown.  Lancelot’s brown eyes met Merlin’s  blue eyes, the room became icy. My skin pickle up. ( I will Have to change this part.)
“I could not help it, Merlin.” he said, stressing out, “The duchess asked about Verona .”
“That old nosy, b….” Merlin mumbled for my ears only. “Then I guess we will have no choice to meet with her at tea time.”
“You’re kidding, right?” Lancelot asked at the door, “You know how she is about extra guests to her little party.”
“Oh yes, I know.” Merlin said with his hands still on mine.
Oh, he had known of the duchess reputation with her tea parties and powerful in dark magic she was.
But mine is stronger.
Merlin gave me an odd look. Had he heard also?
“I would never leave my love in the same room with her and her young girls.”  It was just tea, Right?
“No need to worry, I will be there, Merlin,” he said with this charming look towards me, in the doorway now. He knew this would surely get his friend in an uproar, he did not care. “Your food and tea will be up soon, my dear sweet cousin.”
Merlin shot Lancelot a pair of eyes. That could have been two darts, Merlin’s  hands waved towards the doorway and shut in Lancelot’s face, which, he did not offense Lancelot.  (I think I will be looking over this sentence once more.)
“A good one Merlin.” Lancelot said laughing.
I heard him laughing.
Splash!
“D…. Merlin!” Lancelot mumbled.
Okay, this is the last of Chapter 3 for now.

My Writing: Editing Chapter 2

Okay, after editing  Chapter Two  for the fourth time. I think  I am ready to move on to the next Chapter. But never know with me. If I read it again, I might find something wrong with the first paragraph.  (This paragraph I wrote twice since last week) Even though I did edit this Chapter I may have miss some words.

Chapter Two: Here And Now

It was late afternoon and raining when I left the cottage William had rented.“If I never hear or see you again, it will be for the best, Mr. Scotts!” I exclaimed furiously, running out the door and into the thick trees. I was so ticked off, to notice how heavy it started to rain or the coldness around me.My clothing was plastered to my skin, making me shake a bit.
“Do not go out there, my Love.” I heard him shout, but too late, I was already half
on the wooden bridge with tears in my eyes, I did not notice the sign, only a woman calling my name on the side of the bridge in the water.
“I did not understand.” I said, confused feeling a little shaky to my shoulders and soft lips over mine. However, I could not open my eyes just yet.
“I know only another true sorcerer who studies under Merlin and he will know that you know this also, my dear child.” she said, “Take heart and fear him not.”
***
Why was she sleeping and breathing hard? He silently thought with his hands on her exposed shoulder, her skin was soft and smooth. As he glanced down her pale face that had an even tan from wherever she had come from. If he really wanted to see he could use his magic to see, however, there was too much dark magic in this area, for him to focus right and he sure did not want his enemies to realize there was an outsider from a different time here.
****
My eyelashes blink as whoever lips descended onto mine or was it also a dream.
No, it is not, my sweet love. A male voice echoed in a distant in my mind now.
I open my eyes to find Merlin icy stare towards the strange curly blonde haired woman with green eyes at my side. I recognized her instantly and felt pure hatred for what she had done to me. No, Guinevere. I silently thought to myself.
Do not deny who are you, child. A male’s voice said in a far off distant.
“Oh Merlin,” the blonde haired woman said in a sorrowful tone, “You did not say she was injured badly. Just look at that bruise on her forehead a right hand.”
I stared in disbelief towards the blonde haired woman for only a moment before Merlin’s hand came over the top of my right hand, where there was a nasty bluish color. A sensation shot through my body as I glance towards Merlin, who kept his expression unreadable now. “Ouch, that hurt.” I said as he let go of my hand suddenly now.
“Is her hand broken?” the blonde haired woman asked with concern, however, her green eyes had this sinister look.
Why should this bother her? I wondered to myself as I saw concern in Merlin’s blue eyes before it became cold again.
“No, Guinevere.” he said puzzled. Why had I missed these marks, “I have some salve in my room.”

“Why don’t you fetch it for our guest? Guinevere said innocently , “I will keep our guest company.”  (Okay, I had to re word this sentence.)

If he refuses, then she would know what he knew about her and would ruining everything.”I will be right back,” he said soberly.

Okay, in the last paragraph I wanted to show a little tension.  Now,  onto my next Chapter. Hopefully, I do not decide  to re edit the whole Chapter again.

My Writing: Day 29 and 30

Okay after some serious thinking I decided to use numbers instead of writing the words out for this post.

Now back to my writing which have been a little slow lately, but here a little update to where I am in my editing of my chapters.

After going over my first seven chapters, I realized that the only way I would be sure that I did not have any more errors, was to have someone look over it, which someone did and this weekend I was redoing the first two chapters again. which was not to fun. I had a few typos and grammar errors.

Oh boy, I thought I was finish with adding new paragraphs, but I decided to add just one sentence. Now I just hope there is not any grammar mistakes or missing words by doing this.  But this will not  bother me one bit.

Well, onto my next two chapters.

My writing: Day Twenty-six and Twenty-seven

Okay, I finally went and sign up for National Novel Writing Month yesterday and right now I am thinking of my story idea that I will be writing.  But first I am trying to write out the outline and plot for it, which I am finding a little hard to do. After all I usually write my manuscript first then do the outlines and summaries.

Oh boy, this will be interesting and something I will enjoy.

My Writing: Day Twenty- One

Okay, after a long day of looking over my Chapter 7 I finally posted it.  And realize that I will have to redo some paragraphs.

Oh boy, so far in my rewriting of Chapter 1-7 , I did keep some paragraphs from the last rough draft I wrote. The thought of rewriting is making wonder to keep those Chapters or delete it.

And knowing me with it comes to deleting parts, I sometime delete important parts.  It did happen on a few chapters and my outlines. But one good thing I have at least two extra rough draft copies. Too bad I did not have two extra outline copies.Oh, well this does not worry me one bit.

And on to the next Chapter.

My Writing: Day Nineteen And Twenty

Okay,  after I posted My Chapter Six and Ideas I found that it will be my new rough draft again. Not that I wanted it to but I feel that I need to go over it once more. Which mean I have to do some rewriting again.

Oh, this is going to be one long weekend with writing and editing. I am also going to take new pictures for my blog. More like put my pictures on my computer.  Something different, I wanted to do.

There is always something about an evening sunset especially, when it is breathtaking.  It is also a good setting for my new story idea.

Well, back to my editing and writing. Hopefully, tomorrow I can get another chapter done.

My Chapter 6 and Ideas

Okay, I had to  edit a little more in this Chapter.  I did find a few errors with some grammar and missing words. I am beginning to think this will be another rough draft.

Oh boy, not again I thought I was finish with the rough draft. I guess I am not.

Chapter 6: The Shock

Helen Wheeler pale complexion face became red as a red pepper, surely not!
“Oh my sweet heaven,” Mary said cheerfully taking her hands, “It’s really you, Stephanie Rose.”

“Hello Mrs. Freds.”Ignoring Helen’s outburst. “How are you?”

“Good Dear.” Mary said smiling. My heaven, she is Anastasia’s granddaughter “And you?”

“I’m fine.” Stephanie said noticing how silent the other two women become.

No! Alice Millsom thought bitterly, as the floor beneath her feet opened and swallowed her plans.“Why Steffi, I did not recognize you,” she said in a sober tone, “I see you lost some weight.”

Stephanie smiled and returned the insult, “I see you have gained it Mrs. Millsom.”

Stunned, Alice face turned a deep shade of red. Before she could comment Helen found her voice.

“Who invited you to this private party?”she said loudly, the crowd next to the buffet table stopped and look.

Nancy St.Pierre known the moment her two-step sisters found Stephanie here; they show their claws and hearing the weight remark. The fire under the pot is getting hotter.
“I did.” Nancy Pierre said automatically from behind them. With her hand on her slim waistline, “You got a problem with this, Helen?”

Hm, I should have known! Alice glancing towards her half-sister, who was in a revealing sheer lace black shirt with a tank top beneath it and black jeans. The nerves, of her coming here in that outfit for her age!As pure jealously soared,“You had no right! Alice exclaimed with a cold-hearted glare.

The forty-nine years older woman just ignored her half sister, who was jealous of how she looked.”Of course, I have every right to.” Nancy said a smile spread across her face, while her blue eyes glared back with a challenged towards her half sisters.”Since Stephanie is the guest of honor” With this brilliant, smile now, “Is that right, dear?

Oh boy, Ms Nancy sure can stirrup a bee’s hive.Stephanie thought with confident; she glanced straight towards Alice and Helen.“You are right,” she said smiling,“I am the new bookstore owner.”
“That’s preposterous!”Helen exclaimed, “I have met Allen Soulet.”
“You and your mother were nuisance here.” Alice exploded now.

Mary Freds spoke up, “Now, Alice and Helen, we do not want to make a scene here.”

“Oh, be quiet Mary,” Alice said point- blank,
“This is my home I say what I want to whoever is here.”

In a flash her eyes darken a bit towards them and  the pin-up anger surface,

“No, you be quiet Alice Millsom. “You have no right to talk on my late mother that way.” Stephanie said boldly, “Y’all two are immature, snobbish, self righteous, jealous …” Her words hung in the air,  a couple of glance their way, surprised by the outburst. (Okay, maybe I added to many words in this part but I wanted to give an idea to what was being said. I might be cutting some words out of here.)
Regaining her control and Nancy’s approval smile, “Now, if y’all will excuse me, I need air.”

My goodness, she has grown out of her shyness. Nancy  realized she could handle the truth of her destiny. “Go right ahead, Stephanie.”
In the foyer entrance, Carrie had witness and sensed the strong vibes coming towards the spot where Stephanie Pattersom and the four women stood. Oh crap, she is one of them.

(Oh boy, it is when the last name is different from the one I was using in the beginning of my novel. Now I have to look again)

If only I can get my characters names right and I still have 14 chapters to go.

My Writing: Day Thirteen

I am at a stand still with my Chapter Four, it seems that I have two chapters in one. How can this be?  I told myself last evening.  But after looking over the whole chapter I found parts that made a new chapter.  It was the word count that I notice at first..

I am trying to keep the word counts between 700- 1090 and this one was over the limit.  Now, I could have delete these parts, but I felt doing so would have left out some important characters and scene.

So, instead I added two more chapters and hoping my word count for my whole novel is less than a 120,000 in word count. But who knows I still have a long way to go.

And on to my new Chapter Four.
