My Writing: Huntingdom’s Manor

I will try to post updates on my writing twice a week, if the internet allow me to. Not fun when it goes out. ☹

One

Huntingdom’s Manor

Remember me as I am not what I have become, my sweet love.

His words echoed in mind, as I stirred from a deep sleep.

Tick! Tick! Snap! What in the world? I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar

room.

Bells shriek in my head. Where am I?

Someone stirred in a mahogany chair near the fireplace.

Curious, I slipped off the bed.

Wow! I glanced towards the handsome dark-haired stranger asleep in a

sitting position.

Who is he? Fear spread over me. Did we?

No, my gentlewoman.” His roguish blue eyes met mine.

Why does his accent sound odd? light-headed and weak, I grabbed the chair.

Two strong arms wrap around my waistline. “Easy, you were injured in the

forest.”

What forest?

No matter how hard I could not remember.

W-where am I?”

We are in Huntingdom manor.” His blue eyes met mine.

Huntingdom?” A chill rushed through my arm

Yes, are you not familiar with the manor?”

Remember! A voice command.

Pain spread through my head. “Ouch!”

I will get old Merlin.” He informed. “He will check your wounds.”

Merlin?

Strange, she does not recognize him. He gazed towards her Why did she

arrive here?

Sure.” My eyelids felt heavy.

Blurry images and voices surrounded me.

You need to remember them! A male stated.

My sweet goddess!” A stranger stated.

My eyes fluttered open.

Blue eyes met mine.

She is beautiful. “Do you know her?” He asked the other stranger.

No, should I?”

I kept my eyes lower and quiet.

Lancelot!” He resents his friend sarcastic remark.

He met someone. Ouch! I shrank.

Who did he meet? A gruff male voice answered.

Oh my, her energy is disappearing. “You are in pain?” He acted fast.

His icy fingers touched my temple, I straighten.

I am checking for pain.” He pointed out. “I found it.”

Warmth surrounded me.

A dark aura appeared and hissed.

Leave here!” He commanded.

In seconds, the aura disappeared.

Memories raced through my mind.

Oh my goodness the whirl! My heart skipped a beat.

I will find you, Verona.” A familiar voice echoed

Your thoughts returned, my beloved child.” He proclaimed.

Sorcery?” Lancelot glanced towards her.

Where the stranger from earlier?” I inquired.

Da–! She remembers.

Who?” Merlin stated. “No, I know the person.”

~~~End of Chapter One ~~~
~~~Note~~~

The name is Huntingdom’s Manor . I  am using a different  name  but auto-correction seems to think it’s Huntingdon  with letter  n.     🤔

My Writing: My First Poem

Oh yes, I did say poem,  while looking for some notes in my notebooks I came across some poems I’ve written a few years back. Also, I found my very first poem I wrote 15 years ago.

Oh yes, for a 24 years older, I was being spontaneous  for entering a Poetry Contest.(It was a free contest. So, I said why not try it.) I sent my poem to the place without mentioning it to anyone.

I did come in at second place, I had to sign an affidavit form and check for any mistakes before sending my poem back. My poem some suppose to get it publish.  in a poetry collection book.

The sad thing about this, there was a major family emergency, that shook my family at the same time. (This is where I  learned firsthand,  How serious  a Diabetic coma and Stroke really was. Sorry, going off the subject. I might post something about it in a later post.)

Anyway, I lost track of this poem, which means it is probably in a poetry book out there somewhere.

Oh, I have to admit one thing, after reading this poem again.  I wonder How was it possible for this poem to place second.  Also, I am no poet.

Only A Whisper
I’m only a whisper
That he does not hear
How dear he is to me
So I whisper it low
For he does not know
How much I love him so.
But I am not beautiful
As those he date,
Knowing this I fear my fate
That I maybe too late
This is why I hate
To Say it out loud
Or in crowd
So I whisper it low
For he does not know
I love him so.

I guess I could say this poem at one time meant something to me. However, like a saying goes that’s water under the bridge.

Now, I am going back to editing my chapter, which is going very slow.

My Writing: Chapter 13

Okay, I have to admit this Chapter did give me a little headache with writing out the first paragraph, which I wanted to show more. For now I’ll leave this Chapter a lone, if I look once more I might start editing and deleting paragraphs.

 Chapter 13: Hidden Hallway
A second later. we made our way down the dark eerie stairs, then though the empty quiet kitchen. Too quiet if you asks me. I did not like this one bit. Glancing around the great hall.  A question came to mind.
Strange, where was everyone? A chilled came over my arms.
You do not want to know, Verona.  A distance voice answered. Walk faster something is approaching.
“Merlin are we almost there?” Fear came over me now.
Merlin had the handle to the leverage to the secret passageway, he turned to find  glowering red sinister eyes  approaching them .
Without thinking he pulled her and himself into the hidden corridor. “Purest light protect us from this darkness.” Suddenly, the corridor lit up  brightly around us. “Let’s hurry before anything else goes wrong.” (Okay, this paragraph I will be rewriting. I want to show more.)
“What was that?” I asked shaken. I tried to move only to find Merlin still holding me in his arms. I gave him a puzzled glance. “Merlin?”
“Hush, my love.” he said lower his lips to mine. He mumbled lowly, “Guinevere.”
The nerve of him!  I pushed  him away from me.  A flash of a crown on his forehead appeared, then in an instant it was gone. I had to blink twice.
“What’s wrong, Verona?” his voice held a serious note.
“You’re ..” His finger came over my lips.
“We will finish this later.” he whispered stepping back.
“Who are you really? ” I whispered.
Someone whom you do not want to get involved with, my Love. His eyes  seemed to say. “We have to move on, Verona.” he said, placing his arms around my waistline in a protective way once more.
Without commenting, we hurried down the corridor we were getting close to a tiny glare. A thick, musky and muggy smell of decaying filled our surroundings now. I felt sick suddenly.  (I will be rewriting this scene again. I think I need to add more showing. )
Merlin quickly pulled me behind him.”Sh..”
Something stirred in the dark corner of the cavern.
I glance in question, Merlin stared towards something. Before I could comment, Oh my a dragon!  No wait a minute it’s a Griffin.  The enormous beast stepped out from the darkness.
Merlin gave a low growl. I was stunned by this huge beast. Its’ tongue came out and licked its’ lips.
Oh great, probably thinking we’re free food! I thought, Merlin turned and gave me an icy glare.
“I do not eat meddling humans from this manor.” the large beast spoke, in a stern female voice.  I was surprised. “What brings you to my lair?”
“We wish to enter the Forest of Sherwood.” Merlin said soberly holding my hands tightly.
“Hmm.., No one from this manor knows of this passage,” she said, “Who told you of this place?”
“Sir William Scarlet.” Merlin said boldly.
There was emotion in her greenish eyes for a moment. “How do I know you’re telling the truth?” she said with rage and fury, “Duchess Joan could have put a spell on you to come here, like so many.”
An image of an auburn haired woman, in a sea green dress holding a child, appeared in my mind. “No, she did not.” I said revealing myself, “She wants me dead.”
Merlin glanced towards me and said, “My friend is right.”
The beast glance towards me, I thought she was getting ready to blow fire towards us. Instead, she blew onto the torch, next to her. The whole cavern lite up, in a golden color as her scalded skin.
Her green eyes stared straight towards me, for a moment I saw her turn into an auburn haired woman in a green velvet gown with a silver aura surrounding.
Merlin could not believe his eyes, nor said anything to the transformation of the huge beast to the beautiful maiden, who could have been nothing other than, “Lady Sarah.” he said bluntly.
Her eyes meet him in surprise to see him here. “ You have changed a lot.” she said then to me, “Why do you wear my husband’s cloak and carry his bow and arrows?”
Goose bumps spread over my arms. No, she cannot be!  (Okay, this sentence I will be rewriting.)
“So, I could use it in some way.” I said boldly glancing towards Merlin with approved nod. “He knows there is darkness in his manor by the duchess, Brisen and Morganna,” I notice her eyes narrow by these names. “The Earle recommended we go out to the forest through the garden.”
“Then you will need my help to leave and face the Forest of Time.” she said bluntly walking up towards me now, “But first, I must know what have been said to whom.”
“You have my permission, but how do I know you are on your side?” Merlin asked with his hands around me.
Her eyes narrow, she spoke only to him, The older you get cousin, the more impossible it is for you to trust me.
Only because you are the Guardian of Time, which you should have told me. Merlin silently thought, glancing towards her. Can she hear us?
No. Who is she? She silently asked, curious now. No one could break her spell she cast those many years ago. Well, only two could; however, she did not admit this to her younger cousin.
I will let you see for yourself. He silently said.  You will not believe who has brought her here. He silently said, meeting my puzzled glance. “She is on your side and will never harm you.”
“I know that, Merlin.” I said as her brows went up.
Merlin? She silently thought with a puzzled glance.
Morganna. He answered back.
“Morganna needs to be stop.” she mumbled, “Let me see your right hand child,”
Obeying, I gave her my right hand and flipped it over in my palm to be seen, “I should warn you the last person who got close to me got an electrical shock.”
“Electrical?” She glance into my palm, then towards Merlin. “You are not from this era.”
“No, she is not from our era.” Merlin said boldly, “Look at her necklace.”

Okay, I wanted to make this Chapter a little mysterious and add a spark between Verona and Merlin.  I also wanted to add an intriguing new character with a lot of secrets. Now, I am moving on to the next Chapter.

My Writing: Chapter 9

Okay, after rewriting some paragraphs  about three times , I finally decided to go back with the original paragraphs for now.  But never know with me, I might decide to rewrite this chapter again.

Ever had one of those days when the characters did not seem to fit into some scenes. Well, that’s how this Chapter was for me.

Chapter 9: Poisoned
I was disappointed when Merlin mysteriously left me. I have hope to see him  again. However, as evening approached, Merlin was nowhere in sight.
Now, I watched from the corner of the great hall as the newcomers.  I watched the well-dressed men and women sitting around, the large wooden table, where ale and foods were being served. I noticed the Earl of Huntingdon seated beside his daughter and the young sandy brown haired, bearded man with blue eyes, whom eyes kept staring back towards me. (I know will have to rewrite this paragraph)
Oh my. I  quickly turned towards  Lancelot and Elaine whom, came towards me when young Galahad who seemed curious.
“My sweet cousin, please join us at the main table with Arthur and Guinevere.” Lancelot said cheerfully.
No, this was not right. I felt the strange  pull of strong energy.
“Oh, Lancelot, let your cousin enjoy herself.” Elaine said dully, “There is Bors with Brisen.”
Something was not right here, I felt this evil presence and saw a dark aura come across the whole room. Oh Merlin where are you? I silently thought
Somewhere you will never find, Princess. An evil voice snared towards me as I glanced around at the crowd. A dark figure lurk in the corners.
“Have some ale?” Elaine said, handing me the goblet.
I was thirsty and it would be rude to refuse this offer. “Thank you.’ I said as I lifted it to my mouth, I met the young king’s shocked glance, I swallow the liquid that tasted funny; however, I did not say anything as I was offered more.
I was thirsty and it would be rude to refuse this offer. “Thank you.” I lifted it to my mouth, I met the young king’s shocked and furious glance. The liquid tasted funny, I did not say anything as I was offered more.
Be very careful, Verona. A voice echoed in my mind.
I am through being careful!  Feeling bitter and discourage, I had no idea why I felt this way, then it hit me. Within minutes I felt light as a feather. My throat began to burn hot. No, there was something in this drink! My stomach began to churn, I cover my mouth suddenly now.(Okay I will be rewriting this part. I want to show not tell.)
“Are you okay?” Lancelot asked, noticing my face that probably looked pale now.
I shook my head, I hurried out of the great hall and into the garden and right smack into Breuse who had a servant in his arms. Before anyone could say or do anything a wave of nausea came over  in the fine garden roses. (I will write a better description to this part.)
A second later, Breuse and his young woman rushed over to my side, however, the man did not come to show concern.
“What do you think you were doing coming out here like this?” He asked furiously now. “The duchess will hear of this.”
Oh, his attitude was getting me pissed off by the minute, I narrow my brown eyes and said, “No one tells me, where I cannot go or where to be sick at, Mister.”  A wave of nausea came over me once again. “Oh my, not again.”
“What is the meaning of this?” A tall, dark haired man with dark brown eye asked furiously, just as I made a fool of myself once more in the flowers garden again. “Oh, she is ill. Get Merlin at once!”
Before I could say another word I went side way into the darkness again.
No! A stranger exclaimed grabbing the young lady.

Okay, I wanted to make these last two sentences mysterious and intriguing. I also wanted to introduce this mysterious stranger, whom a few secrets and surprises as well. Now, onto the next Chapter, before I start deleting a few paragraphs.

My Writing: Chapter 5

Okay, I finally finished with my Chapter 5, I just could not leave this Chapter alone. First I cut and then I rewrote the original paragraph.  Hopeful, I am I finished with this chapter for now, but never know with me.  As for any errors I may have over look some words.
Chapter 5: Dangerous Encounter  (I think I will be changing the title for this chapter.)
The door swung open once more  and Merlin  appeared in the chamber. He froze by the sight of me. I was in the process of braiding my long brown hair now when he came to my side and stop me.
(Okay, this paragraph is really bugging me and after reading it over. I think I will be cutting it once more.)
“No, let me.” he said lowly into my ear. “Your hair is as satin silk.”
Stunned,  for a moment those were the exact words…Oh, why could I not say his name.
“You resemble a Princess,” He said, retrieving a silver mirror from inside his robe pocket, “See for yourself.”
A golden crown with a blue stone appeared on my forehead, I felt fear raise within me. I frowned handing the mirror back to Merlin.
“Is something wrong?”
“Oh no, it is beautiful, Merlin,”  I said avoiding his eyes.
“Why do you deny the truth, Verona?” he asked, “Maybe, I should show how beautiful you really are.”
“Why not cast spell to sent me back home?” I asked. He looked surprised and hurt by my out busted. But only for a moment.
He was about to comment when a knock came, Lancelot entered with a younger dark haired boy. carrying tray entered.
He cannot send you back! A female’s voice echoed, I glanced from Merlin then towards Lancelot.
“Sorry, I took so long.” Lancelot smiled, “A better gown, Lady Verona,” He ignored Merlin cold glare. “Where do you want this, Merlin?”
“You can place it on the bench,” he said soberly.
The young dark haired, slim built boy stared towards me with a nervous glance.
There was something about him, that reminded me of  my  second cousin, Tim.  I also noticed the resemblance between Lancelot and him. I glanced towards Lancelot, who was watching me, “Dear cousin who is this?”
He glanced towards Lancelot.
“This is Galahad, my boy.” He said proudly, “Your second cousin, Verona.”
I thought Lancelot did not know of Galahad being his son. I was puzzled, Merlin  gave me a questionable look. “Hello.” I said smiling.
All things are not what it seems, my Sweet. A familiar male voice echoed.
“Lady Verona,” He had this charming grin, “Nice to meet you.”
“Same here and Thank you.” I said, glancing down at the bowl. “What is this, Lancelot?”
“Peas and potato soup with some of my herbs.” Merlin said, “This tea is mint and basil for your headache. It’s from my herbal garden”
How did he know I used basil to made tea. I met his eyes that said, “I know more about you than you think, Verona.”
“We’ll leave you now, my dear cousin.” Lancelot said, “Merlin a word with you.”
“Go ahead and eat, Lady Verona.” Merlin said, “I will be right back.”
***
I sat in the huge chair which had more cushion than a regular chair. If I had been paying close attention, I would have wondered why a modern chair was here in this time. However, I was to hungry to think straight.  I took a small sip of the soup. To my surprise, the potato soup was well seasoned with salt and I did taste a hint of basil. (I will be changing the food description also.  )
This was not bad for medieval times. I blinked in disbelief was I actually in a different time?
“Are you sure?” Merlin asked loudly from the half closed entrance door.
I heard Lancelot said “yes.”
Merlin cursed violently.
“I won’t have that.” Entering the chamber again.
I glance towards his red face, something burn into his eyes before it faded.
“Is something wrong?” I asked, worried.
“Oh no, the hunting party is returning,” Merlin said frankly, “The Duchess wants to present you to her son-in-law, the Earl of Huntingdon.”
Say what! My eyes widen in disbelief, “Are you serious?”
My heart was beating fast. This was similar to the time I meet my real parents and grandfather. I started to shiver.
The memory of that day came flowing back. I saw myself walking into a well kept, estate behind, a sandy haired, handsome built young man with blue eyes.
Entering the well decorated living room, which was filled with five well dressed stranger enjoying a conversation until we walked in. Everything became quiet; the only sound was the housekeeper gasp and a tray falling to the floor, the elderly man and woman glance my way. From their expression, I was a surprise to them all.
As sudden as the vision came it was gone, leaving bits a pieces of my life. I remember working for a detective agency that located missing children and people. However, why was I with Nicholas Scotts on the strange estate…  England? I blinked.
“Where did you just go, my dear?” he asked, holding my hands in  his. “Is it possible for you to…. No, I should not think of that.”
Taken aback, I asked, “What do you mean?”
“One moment you were sitting here, the next you was fading away.” Merlin said, “Could it be you’re remembering something? Tell me.”
Careful to what you say! A voice warned.
“I was searching for a missing child with my employer.” I said,  “I  was being shown a piece to  a puzzle.”
Yes, a puzzle but I will not I lose you once more, my beloved. His eyes seemed to say to me.
“I am not your beloved.” I said as his hand dropped down from mine suddenly, in confusions. “ I need to know why and how came to be here.”
“Yes, I know my dear.”  Meeting my eyes, “ But I said this in my mind for you not to hear.”
“Oh, I…” Lost in word my face felt very hot from embarrassment.
“Hmm, I wonder what else you have heard.” With a grin before it turned into a frown. “Tell me, what were you dreaming about when I came in with Guinevere?”
I cannot say in here, Merlin. A dark aura lurks across the room. “I do not remember.” He must have sensed something, his glazed went towards the wall.
“Well, I’ll be.” Spreading his hands out, “What came into this chamber be gone, by the purest of light.”
The aura vanishes The ray of a bluish light appeared. Merlin piercing blue eyes met mine.
“Were there any when you admit of hearing my thoughts?” Taking my hands in his now.
Watch it, He will play you!
“No, it crept in when you said Gwen.” I said using the nickname and glance towards the walls.
“Ah, I had a feeling that was who sent the spell.” he said rubbing my right hand.
“She can cast a spell?”
An image of a young girl came to mind.
For all I knew, she was one of my imaginary friends, from my childhood.
Okay,I wanted this to sound intriguing and add a bit more pieces to Verona’s past. It’s seems like Verona has a few surprises for Merlin, whom may have some surprises also.
Now, I will leave this chapter alone for awhile and head towards Chapter 6.

My Writing: Oh, No Missing Chapters!

Okay, after a few minor setback in my writing, I think I can get back to my Chapters.  As for minor setback. Picture editing a few chapters and suddenly realize two important Chapters are missing.

Oh yes, this happened to me.  I told myself not worry, I have it in my rough drafts folder on my computer.

I opened  this  folder went through the chapters. Now, I was starting to worry,  I could not find it nowhere.  I did eventually find the rough draft copy.

It was the last place,  I  did not want it to be in. Now, I am glad I do not empty my recycle bin often. Or I would not be a happy camper.

Anyway, here is a recap of  Chapter 3,( I rewrote this chapter about four times now. However, this is the last time I will posting it. Unless I find something wrong again. But never know with me.

A recap of Chapter 3 : Rivals
A knock came at the door,  Merlin  stood with a small jar in hand. His eyes glance my way only for a moment.
Was that a spark of interest? I thought shaking the idea. His face became red with fury.
“What is this?” Merlin roared out. Never in his years of knowing Elaine had she ever done something so childish as this.
“The clothing Lady Guinevere said to bring.” she said bluntly.
“Ah, I see.” His eyes went astray towards her chest, turning towards Elaine. “This is not  a proper outfit for a young maiden from a respectful family, nor is she a tavern maiden, Elaine!” His blue eyes met her eyes,  she backed away suddenly. “Now be gone.”
Her eyes matched his glare before heading out the door.
Pig headed fool! “Y-yes oh, great one.” she bowed, hurrying away. Nearly bumped into Lancelot.
“Hey, Lana wait up.” Lancelot said, puzzled, carrying velvet green dress, with a well dress woman. “Look who I found.”
“Oh, Duchess Joan, this is an honor.” Merlin said, placing a kiss on the side of her face.
“Merlin.” she said flatly.
Her tight mouth held a disapproving  gaze towards Merlin. She did not seemed old, her facial feature revealed, a youthful face and something else, I could not place.
Look deeper my Dear. A woman’s voice said.
“Oh wow, I mean. Who brought you those clothing, dear cousin?” he asked stunned.
“Lady Guinevere thought it would be nice on me.” I said tightly and uncomfortable now as the older woman stared at me or was it my necklace.
“I think these are much better, dear,” she said with a kind smile.“Hmm…,my dear granddaughter does not know nice clothes when she sees it.”
And do you! A female voice echoed in the distance of my mind.
A look of puzzlement cross her face, “Oh, Thank you my Lady.” I mumbled.
“You’re welcome.” the Duchess said, “I will be honored to have you for tea this afternoon.”
I could not help noticing  Merlin and Lancelot looked surprise.
“If she is up to walking, that is?” she asked glaring towards both men.
“Oh yes, will you have tea in the garden?” Merlin asked warmly.
What was going on! The room was freezing! I glanced towards Merlin, who kept his gaze on the Duchess.
“Hmm, the garden will nice.” she said smoothly.
Why was he protecting me? I notice Lancelot glance his way now. There was something odd about him or was it that he reminded me of my… I cannot remember whom.
“That does sound good, since she has been up here for a whole  day.” Lancelot said, “But will your ladies in waiting wonder about my cousin bruises?”
“Oh no, I will make sure Lady Veronica and Maria act ladylike.” she said frankly, “However, you how teens like to act. I will leave you now, dear.”
“Let me see your hand.” Merlin said boldly, his eyes however, roamed towards  my chest.
Obeying, I gave him my hand as he passed the ointment over my bruised, the smell of mint and menthol. I felt like I was drifting back to sleep.
“Easy Verona,” he said concern now. “Lancelot tell the cook to fix some food and tea for your cousin.”
“I will.” Lancelot said, “While I am at it, I will find out what was bothering Lana.”
“This outfit is why she was upset.” Merlin said, “Guinevere has no respect for your cousin’s reputation.” Pausing, “You know her grandmother will spread rumors around.”
Lancelot knew that tone in his old friend’s voice and  was ready for anything from a frog or a cat. His friend  two favorite spells However, his friend would not do any of this in front of this young woman.
He knew right off, what his friend was thinking and pondered a spell of coldness.
****
I was waiting for  fists to be thrown.  Lancelot’s brown eyes met Merlin’s  blue eyes, the room became icy. My skin pickle up. ( I will Have to change this part.)
“I could not help it, Merlin.” he said, stressing out, “The duchess asked about Verona .”
“That old nosy, b….” Merlin mumbled for my ears only. “Then I guess we will have no choice to meet with her at tea time.”
“You’re kidding, right?” Lancelot asked at the door, “You know how she is about extra guests to her little party.”
“Oh yes, I know.” Merlin said with his hands still on mine.
Oh, he had known of the duchess reputation with her tea parties and powerful in dark magic she was.
But mine is stronger.
Merlin gave me an odd look. Had he heard also?
“I would never leave my love in the same room with her and her young girls.”  It was just tea, Right?
“No need to worry, I will be there, Merlin,” he said with this charming look towards me, in the doorway now. He knew this would surely get his friend in an uproar, he did not care. “Your food and tea will be up soon, my dear sweet cousin.”
Merlin shot Lancelot a pair of eyes. That could have been two darts, Merlin’s  hands waved towards the doorway and shut in Lancelot’s face, which, he did not offense Lancelot.  (I think I will be looking over this sentence once more.)
“A good one Merlin.” Lancelot said laughing.
I heard him laughing.
Splash!
“D…. Merlin!” Lancelot mumbled.
Okay, this is the last of Chapter 3 for now.

My Writing: Part 2 Of Chapter 3

When I was writing my other post on ‘Editing Chapter 3 Once More’I decided to add this part also.  I think I am finish editing these paragraphs,  But never know with me, I could always find something wrong.  I know one thing I am  not perfect when it comes to catching grammar errors and  spelling.

Her match his glare before heading out the door.

As you! A female voice echoed in the distance of my mind.

That look she gave was puzzling, “Oh, Thank you my Lady.” I mumbled.

“You’re welcome.” the Duchess said, “I will be honored to have you for tea this afternoon.”

I could not help noticing  Merlin and Lancelot looked surprise.

I was waiting for a fistfight to be thrown.

Splash!

“Dam nit Merlin!” Lancelot mumbled.

Merlin’s jealous by Lancelot’s remark! Noticing his sandy brown haired came to his shoulder and beard was a bit shorter and less gray from earlier. Why was I seeing him in a new light this made my heart skip a beat?

He was staring towards my face with a puzzle look, I met his gaze for a moment.

A flash of another man bending down and kissing me in a garden.

You will always be mine, he said before the image faded away.

What was she remembering? He felt the strong pull of a very powerful energy.  This was not of the darkness in this manner. He sighed, “Verona what is it?”

With his hands over mine now, I found it difficult to speak as I felt a strange pull.

Do not deny your true feelings, Verona. A female voice whispered in my mind.

As stubborn, as I am, I ignore the voice and lower my eyes with embarrassment, “It was nothing.” I said flatly, “I was wondering why Guinevere seemed to think I would like these clothing.” I pulled on the clothing top; which was revealing too much skin to my liking.

“Ah, yes indeed I thought the same,” he said to me in a husky tone before it became serious. “What exactly did she say to you?”

“She asks who I was and did not believe me, tried to come close to my bed, but she got shocked.” I said noticing his dark brows shot up suddenly. “And then Lady Elaine seemed jealous at the sight of me?”

You do not say, So she was trying to find out whom Verona was.  Opening the medium size jar. “Hmm, I think I will keep a close eye on her and her grandmother.” he said, placing as ointment on her forehead now, “Why did I not see this before?”

I noticed his eyes on my necklace “What?” I asked, feeling drawn to him and his mouth.

“You have a very powerful protector in this stone.” he said lightly touching the  bluish stone. It  felt warm from being in between her bosoms. His mind did not ponder there long.”Were you by any chance born in the sign of fire?”

Thy person who is born,

In thy sign of fire,

Shall be protected by thy golden griffin.

***

Thy person, who bears Thy marking of thy griffin

Shall rule the land of the griffin once more.

The memory of that day washed over me once more. I stood in front of all my classmate  my heart was beating fast as I try not to stutter but stuttering in those days were a curse. Especially when I got nervous.

Those two poems made me the laughingstock of my class. My adopted parents were outraged by such nonsense. I felt hurt as the laughter echoed. The only two who had laugh were my best friends Daisy and Melanie Scotts. Come to think of it now, they had a sober expression. Strange why was I thinking of them and those two poem?

Now, I am going to Chapter 4 before I decide to cut some paragraphs.

My Writing: Second Draft

Okay, after reading the first draft I found some many error I decided to change a few things and one character on the Prologue page.

Here is the edited version from my first draft.  Hopefully, when I read it once more, I won’t decided to rewrite the first paragraph. But never know with me. As for grammar errors I found a few but I may have missed some.

Prologue: Forgotten Past

I stood behind the festivities, in the great hall of the castle. No one took notice of me, in my velvet green cloak that covered my face or the sword on my right side. I held it tightly as I scan the crowd for someone. My eyes wonder towards the thrown, where the royal family stood. A familiar stir came over me as bluish eyes met mine. Who was he? I wondered. The dark-haired, handsome tanned, young man stood with a blonde haired full figure woman, whom worn a sea green gown. She looked canny and sinister with the smirk on her face. Why did I want to rip her into tiny pieces? My eyes then traveled to the dark-haired, evenly tanned, skin tone teenage boy. I felt my right hand tingle suddenly.

(The top paragraph was rewrote about five time before I felt satisfied with it. But it may be change again.)

“Easy Verona.” A hard stern male’s voice said beside me. “Watch and listen.”

“I condemn those associated with the Earl of Huntingdon.” the king said boldly.

Why was he condemning this Earl? His words brought anger to me.

One of his loyal servants asked, “But why, Sire?”

“Silence, the king has spoken.” The bearded, dark-haired stranger in a black robe said sternly.

I felt pure hatred towards him.

“What do you see around him?” my companion asked.

A dark shadow appeared around him and the blonde woman. I felt fear.

“He is as evil as she is.” I whispered to him and felt pure energy surrounding us.

“You’re correct, my dear.” he said taking my right hand now, “It’s time to remember this young king.”

This was a dream right? I silently thought to myself, as we moved backwards.  I felt a strong pulled towards the young king..

His blue eyes reminded me of someone. I felt sadness in them now.

“Guinevere?”

I am not her. I silently thought afraid now, as the elderly man held my hand with a firm grip.

“Do not let go my dear.” he said soberly, “You must not deny your destiny.”

“What destiny?” I asked confused. My only comforted now, was my birthstone necklace, which held a griffin in the center of it. “I have no destiny here.”

“Ah, but you do my dear child.” he said, “Look towards the teenager and remember what should have been.”

As he said this, I glanced towards the boy, who met my brown eyes. He knew I was there.

In an instant I was in bedchamber, where a young brunette haired woman, in a long velvet green gown paced by the huge cobblestone window. Here I could see luscious green hills and trees.

I glance back towards the woman now. A newborn baby boy slept soundly, in her arms. I had this sudden urgent of gentleness. But there was something in the way she paced from the huge wooden door to the window, She was waiting for someone or something. I thought feeling a pressure in my chest.

“Her lover.” a female’s voice answered into the wind that started to blow furiously, as dark clouds approached.

I knew she was right for I felt it in my heart as tears came to my eyes. Where was he? I wondered. “Careful on what you ask for, My sweet.” he said, “Focus on this scene, Verona.”

My eyes narrowed as the dark presence disguised as the blonde from earlier entered the room carrying a tray, with the greenish goblet on it. I felt a sudden fear come over me. Something was wrong here.

“Oh, Queen Guinevere,” the blonde-haired woman said with a sorrow expression. Her green eyes held none. “I just heard the news of our dear King and his men.”

This brought the brunette woman attention and narrowed her brown eyes ready “What happened to them?” she asked.”Or should I say what have you done, Morganna?”

I wanted to swipe that smirk she worn off her face. “Oh, They will not be coming back to Camelot and Merlin gone forever,” she said with an evil laughter.

I glance towards my companion in shock. I could not make out his facial expression from the black cloak he worn over his face but I did hear a growl.

“What you do to him, Morganna?” she asked boldly. “Oh, he is sleeping somewhere.” she said stepping up to her now, “Now give me, Mordred.”

I notice the flash in her brown eyes of anger by that name, “His name is Nicholas Arthur Robin as his Father and his grandfather,” she said flatly. “I will never allow you near him.”

“Foolish child, nobody knows this for you will not live to see or tell.” Morganna said using her amulet. “And you lost your amulet, as a child. Your mother cannot help you now.”

I saw something dark form around her amulet. “Fear not we are only witnessing of what happened,” he said holding my hand tightly now. “Now hand over the newborn, Guinevere.” Morganna said forcefully, “Never, you may use your dark magic on me, but I swear someday, I shall return and hunt you. Nicholas will know his true name.” she said. Her eyes rolled back into a trance state and handed her child to this woman.

I wanted to cry for the baby as I watched in disbelief.

Whatever, the shadow  formed around Guinevere and without trying to fight it, she took the goblet into her hands and drank the red potion.

The minute I saw her fall on the hard cobblestone floor I felt pain. The huge wooden door flung open by a knight with a hawk on his shield.

“My goddess! What did you do, Morganna!” he exclaimed kneeling nest to her. He touched her neck for a pulse.

I knew she was gone.

“But not lost, My Dear.” my companion said his eyes glowed a midnight color.

“She is dead.” he said disbelief.

“And so are you,” she said.

I could see the dark-haired bearded knight with green eyes consumed by the dark shadow. Before it could attack him, I noticed a familiar ring around his neck on a black leather rope. (I might delete this part.)

I wanted to call out but I knew better.

My Writing: My Day Going In Circle

Ever had one of those days that nothing seemed to be going right?

Well, today I am having one of those days, I was reading over my first manuscript again, for any mistakes I may have missed and realized, one of  my main characters needed to sound more interesting and intriguing. After all this manuscript is about a  family curse.

Here is  the reason why I was reading over it again:

I decided to put my first Seven Chapters on Wattpad just to see if anyone could  give  me feedback  on it.  I am just testing the water, to see how it will do out there in the publishing world. But I won’t keep it on there long if no one notice it. A little nervous about this  but I need to see if it is worth it.

Oh yes, I am in the having doubts . But that won’t stop me from writing.  I just have to see how it goes.

I am also looking at Writers Cafe but I need to read up on that one before deciding.

Well, I am off to writing and editing again.  And taking photo shots of the evening sky. I have not lately, I forgot to charge my camera’s battery again.

My Writing: Day Ten

Okay, after looking over Chapter Two I decided  to redo some parts and add a little more description to my main character’s home and shorten some paragraphs. Hopefully, it will not take me that long to redo. And then onto Chapter 3.
