My Writing: Chapter14

Okay, this Chapter was not that bad in editing and it did not bug me. I think I will leave this one a lone for now. But never know with me. If I start reading I might decide to delete some parts.

Chapter 14: Guardian of Time
Her eyes widen with shock and confused expression. “This was my mother in-law’s necklace.” she said, “I gave it to my daughter when I sent her to her father.” She closed her eyes and took my hands. I felt pure energy suddenly.
My heart aches for a child, I would never hold.  A female voice echoed.
Imagines of a child and a man running from a burning manor, came to my mind.  I stood frozen as the auburn woman cast a spell.
“Oh, my dear child.” She could not believe it, however, something held her from showing her true feeling. Her voice was a low tone, “You have traveled far to save this time. But you must still travel farther, Verona.”
Merlin glance towards her in confusing; however, he spoke not a word for Verona to hear. What do you mean?
Once you enter the forest, she must go back to her own time She silently said.  I am surprised Vivian is helping her and you.
She was the one who gave her your necklace in the future and brought here without Morganna sensing it. He silently said. Will I know her when I will meet her again?
A deep sinking feeling came over her, she knew he would not.
Who says it was she who brought Verona here. A male voice answered for only Sarah to hear.
She was stunned and puzzled, but did not let on to her cousin.“Of course, I see.” she said with smiling as she removes her hands from mine.
Did I miss something? I thought silently puzzled.
“No, my child.” she said, “Tell me what is your memory of your real parents?”
“I have none…” I trailed off
“Someone spoke of a poem, I was supposed to remember.” Pausing, “The person, who is born in thy sign of fire, Shall be protected by the griffin, no matter where she or he may be.”
I noticed her smile spread quickly, before it vanished. Merlin glance towards me in total surprise.
“Do you know your name here?” Merlin asked seriously now.
Do not reveal your true name to him yet. Another voice answered.
“I cannot remember it.” I answered.
You’re my Guinevere Rose.  A male voice answered back. Sarah looked surprised and stared into my eyes.
“Oh my!” she exclaimed cover her heart. There was a very powerful presence here. One she had known very well and dread. Unlike the forces within the manor.”Do you know whom you have here, Merlin?”
“No, I cannot even see in my mirror.” he said in a sober tone. then to me,
“Tell me do you know whom brought you here?”
“I was with …” I trailed off.
Do not say!
“I do not remember.” I said, “Only that this person worn a black cloak.”
I notice Lady Sarah’s face go pale and glanced towards Merlin with a questioning glance.
Do you know whom she speaks of, cousin? She silently asked.
No. Can she actually move through time? He said silently.
There was, only one I know of, whom could do this, even with darkness around us, Merlin. She silently said. She must have met this person in her own time.  You have no idea what you’re in for.
Do not lecture me, cousin. He silently said, narrowing his blue eyes towards her.
I had enough of their silence treat I said, “Are y’all two finished with the silent treatment and tell me what to do?”
My, she has her mother’s temper. “I am sorry my dear, child.” she said with a kind smile, “You must enter Sherwood Forest and face a lot of challenges.”
“I know.” I said in a trance like stage. Pure energy surrounded me. “The Forest Spirit is slowly dying. Only its keeper can save it now.”
Merlin glanced towards me in shock.
“Oh, my sweet heaven!” she exclaimed cover her chest. the suspicious she had of Verona was now proven.. “You have fire within you.” She took my hands. “I should have known.”
What do you mean, cousin? Merlin asked.
Ignoring his question, “You’ll must hurry.” she said holding my hands. “Until we meet again, my dear child.”
My heartache once more for the woman, I have never known. “Will I see you again?”
“Oh yes, “ she said, hugging me. “After all, we share the same element.”
She waited until they were out of sight and ear range to speak. “So, you have finally return for her.”
The hooded figure did not answer, his dark velvet eyes stared toward her.  Then  towards the two figures in the distance. Before he mysteriously vanished.
“He will fight for her.” She said.
“It’s not up to him, Guardian.”  a stern voice answered back.

Okay, I had to add the mysterious and intriguing  stranger, who may hold secrets to both Verona and Merlin’s past.  Now, on ward to my next Chapter.

Hope everyone have a wonderful weekend.  🙂

My Writing: Chapter 12

Okay, I have to admit this chapter was the hardest one to rewrite. Yes, rewrite I was reading the paragraph over and realized something was missing.

Ever wrote out a scene and slowly new characters makes their grant appearance? Well, two new characters made their appearance.  I was just writing out scene 15 and 16 when these two characters began to form. I might leave them in this Chapter for now. But never know with me. As for errors I may have overlooked some.

Chapter 12: Secrets ( I have to change this title)
Lancelot was just about to leave when he turned towards me with puzzled expression. “This is an unusually ring.” he said, “Where did you get this lovely ring?”
I had to think for a moment an image of a short, tanned, curly brunette girl came into mind, “Please promise me to keep this ring safe for all time, Verona.”
As fast as the image came, it faded quickly. Drain was how I felt.  “It belonged to a dear friend, whom would have wanted you to keep it safe.”
Safe from what? A distance voice asked.
Why did I have this feeling a piece of puzzle was missing here. I ignore this cold eerie feeling.
“Lancelot, time is an essence.” Merlin said in a bold tone.
“Oh yes,” Lancelot said, then in a whisper, “Good luck you’ll need it, Verona.”
He crossed the doorway very slowly and meet Merlin, “Keep my dear cousin safe, Merlin.” he said in a sober tone. I never actually heard him speak this way before. There was coldness in his eyes.  “Don’t get into trouble.”
Merlin stared towards his friend’s back then towards me. His blue eyes looked puzzled for a moment. “Here is a change of clothing.”
He handed me, a pair of tan trouser and a very large white silk shirt. I met his concerned eyes, “Was I asleep that long?” I asked.
He took my hands into his large rough hands now, “Yes, you were in a very deep sleep.” He brought my hand to his lips and gentle place a kiss in my left palm.  “I will be out in the hallway, if you need anything just call.”
I met his questionable eyes, “I will be fine.” I said with a tight smile.
Once Merlin was out the door I quickly slipped out of my dress and into the outfit,Merlin had on hand. Strange, why did these clothing look modern. It even had a tag inside of the shirt. Oh no, this wasn’t from this era. I wonder. Could he travel through time travel?  I thought looking into the large mirror.
You asks now watch and learn , Verona. A female’s voice said.
Imagines began to play out in the large mirror in the corner of the room; however, each time I tried to focus on one imagine  another would form.  The feeling of watching a movie came to mind. Instead of going forward the imagines where going backwards.  Until it came to a stop in the garden I was in last evening.
I recognized Morganna and.. No, it cannot be Merlin! I thought.
Look closely and listen. A tiny voice  whispered in my right ear.
He wasn’t Merlin!
“The poison should have killed her, Morganna.” a dark haired stranger with an odd accent said, “I’ll find another way.”
My breath became shallow.  A blue mist formed within the mirror,  an old oak tree appeared, next to it stood a beautiful bluish gray wolf with golden eyes staring back towards me. Standing next this beautiful creature, was a very tall evenly tanned stranger with long hair as  black as the night. His sea green eyes stared back toward me.  However, I did not know him.
“You’re ready to learn the truth, my sweet.” His words made my skin crawl with uncertainly.
My breath became shallow.  Blue mist formed within the mirror once more.  An enormous old oak tree appeared now, next to it stood a beautiful bluish gray wolf with golden eyes, which  stared back towards me. Standing next this beautiful creature was a very tall evenly tanned stranger with long, black haired and glowing sea green eyes.
“You’re ready to learn the truth, my sweet.” His words made my skin crawl with uncertainly.
Golden Runic symbols were engraved around this  oak trees. Where was I? This place made my eyes tear up. I know this place. (I might keep this part and add more details.)
Look within, you’ll remember. A distance voice echoed.
A knock came at the door Merlin re-entered. He gasped, “What’s wrong?”
Drain and paled  I looked away from the mirror. “Oh nothing.” I mumbled avoiding his eyes.
My eyes widen for a moment I saw something dark and sinister behind him. My hand went my mouth.
Merlin did not see what she saw but he felt a strong presence of some kind in the room. Without alerting Verona, whom  behavior was puzzling now. “If you’re ready we must be going.”  (Okay, I well be rewording this part again.)
“Sure.” I whispered, my pickle up. “Where did you get these clothing?”
“Oh, I just had them around.” he mumbled in a sober tone. Without another comment we left the room.
Something caught my eyes as I crossed the threshold. The mirror suddenly vanished into thin air.  I ran right into Merlin’s hard lean back.  He swung around with this dangerous glance. “Verona this..What is wrong?” he asked.
“That mirror just vanished.” I said breathless.
What mirror? There was no mirror in his chamber. “Please describe this mirror to me?”
“A Cherry oak wood frame , with leaves carves on the top and bottom.” I said, “And…”
“Were there any inscription in silver on the sides?”  His heart was beating faster, he knew only of one mirror. However, his friend guarded it now.
“Yes, Runic Letters.” I said. He looked surprised.
“How do you know of those symbols?” he asked.
“I have always known those symbols.” I said walking away, “Could we leave now?”
He stared towards her. She was hiding something.
Oh, will you be able to face the truth when it’s reveal?

Okay, I wanted to make this Chapter intriguing by adding a mysterious  mirror, two new characters and a clue to Verona. Now, I am  moving on, before I decide to start editing and rewriting this Chapter once more.

Have a nice weekend.  🙂

My Writing: Chapter 11

Okay, To be honest this Chapter gave me a  headache, there were  a lot of rewriting. The third paragraph is still bugging  me but I’ll leave it alone for now.

Chapter 11: Dark Secrets
“Morganna, Joan, and  Brisen did something to bring an evil presence here.” Robin said in a sober tone then to me, “You’re the only one can see its’ presence, my dear child.”
What about Merlin? I wanted to ask but instead I asked “Are you effected by this spell, as well?” (I will have to rewrite this sentence.)
“I might be in different areas of this manor.” His eyes met mine, “Trust me, you do not want to know what I become.”
“When can we leave?” Merlin asked flatly.
I noticed he did not act surprised by Robin’s comment.
“Early dawn,” Robin said in a careful tone. “You can leave through the garden gate.”
“I will get our gears together.” Merlin said glancing my way.
Robin spoken careful and sincere; however, something flickered in his brown eyes. My hair on my arms raised up as a cold chill passed near my side. A faded image of a sleeping figure formed into my mind.  It took only a second to realize the truth.  Something dark and wicked filled the air, I glance towards the cobblestone wall near Robin.( I will be rewriting this paragraph, I want to show more and do less telling.)
“I am feeling much better now, Earl Huntingdon.” I said, “I think I shall return to my chamber now.” Sliding off the bed, my feet touch the cold hard stone floor. “It was a pleasure meeting you.”
“This will keep you warm from the coldness, my dear.”
He handed a velvet green cloak, which hid a bow and arrow. In a  low whisper, “Be safe, dear child.” To Merlin, “See you in the morning for the wedding.”
His brown eyes spoken, Keep her safe or I will hunt you down.
Grr! A low growl was heard.
Merlin pulled me into his arms, “We will see you in the morning.”
Was that a growl. I wanted to turn
towards Robin, however his back was turned after from us, Merlin held me tightly. as we fled the chamber.
A minute later, we entered the bed chamber, where Lancelot, Bors and William sat with their head. They looked like their best friend had passed away.
“Hey, why the lone faces?” I asked, Merlin scorned, “Who died?”
Lancelot jumped from his chair and pulled me into his arms. “I am so sorry, Verona.” Giving me a bear hug. I could hardly breathe, “I should have followed you outside. Elaine
kept me from going to you.”
“Easy Lancelot, can you not see she is
turning pale.” Bors said coming up to me, “Is she alright?”
“Oh, I am sorry.” Lancelot released me. I
could not help notice Merlin sharp glare towards him now.
What Gwyn was not good enough for you? I silently thought bitterly. “I am, Okay.” I dared not to see Merlin reaction.
“No, she is not okay. I don’t call sleeping for a whole day and half the evening, Okay.” Merlin said soberly, “Someone tried to poison her.”
Say what! I shot a cold stare  towards Merlin. (I will reword this sentence also.)
“Who would do such thing?” Sir Bors asked flatly.
“I can think of two people, cousin.” Lancelot folded his arms.
“Is Lady Verona life endanger here?” William asked, his eyes went straight towards the green cloak in my hands. “Robin gave you those?”
“Yes, to both questions, Will.” Merlin said, “But he will not help us in any way now.”
“What do you mean?” Lancelot asked.I could see mix emotion from William and Merlin. Were they not going to tell him.
You must tell him! A woman voice said.
“The enchantment is  very bad.” I said boldly, “Thanks, to Morganna, Duchess Joan and Brisen doing.”
Let them believe this, Verona. But there is more to this than meets the eyes. A voice answered in a distance.
“What are we to do, Merlin?” Sir Bors asked seriously.
“We must leave here later on tonight.”Merlin said soberly.
“Then we must get ready.” Sir Bors said boldly.
“I must see to Galahad and Elaine.” Lancelot said. My
hand stopped him from leaving. I  shook my head, No. I knew he could not follow, where we had to go. This cause a great pain within me. “No, only two must go there.” I felt a strong pull. an image of trees were surrounding me.
“You must find them!” Green eyes exclaimed.
Merlin’s hands covered my hands, I took a deep breath.( I will be adding  more details.)
“What does she mean by no?” Sir Bors asked glancing towards Merlin’s hand.
“You have to go into Sherwood Forest.” William said in a flat tone.
“Robin told us to enter Sherwood through the garden.” Merlin said, “It is not the safest way.”
“Then we must go with you, A- Merlin.”Lancelot said, “I will not say anything to Elaine or Gawain .”
“No Lancelot.” A tugging feeling came over me, “You must stay and protect your family members and my older brother Bors here.”
“My lady, you are such a sweet person.” Bors said hugging me, “Strange, it is feels like I’ve known known you all my life.”
A vision of a younger woman hugging him came to mind.  Maybe he did.  A tiny voice with a French accent echoed in my mind.
“I will show you another way to leave the manor,” William said guardedly. “But it is dangerous.”
“You’re talking about the dragon’s cavern.” Merlin said soberly,
“Yes,” William said in a sober tone.
“We will leave now.” Merlin said.
“I thought we were leaving later on.” I asked puzzled.
“If Robin was as you seen him,” William said sadly, “He will inform the Duchess.” He took my hands and whispered, “Do not hate him nor me.”
“I do not hate him or you, Uncle Will.” I whispered into his ears, then aloud, “I wonder, what I would have said to you,if we’ve met a few years back in Sherwood Forest?”
“Hmm, maybe we did, my lady.”
William said with a wink, he turned towards Merlin n, “Safe journey my friend
and keep this young one safe.”
“Farewell, my friends.” Lancelot said taking my hand he raise it to his lips.
I saw another place my friend Melanie was introducing me to her fiance, who looked similar to Lancelot. The images vanished quickly,  I had to give him my ring.
“Lancelot take this to remember me,” I said, taken my ring off, which had two little diamonds around a turquoise stone. “You can even give it to Lady Elaine as a wedding present.”
“Hmm, that’s a good idea.” he said with a smile. “You would have made a great cousin,Verona.”
“You and Bors, as well.” I noticed Merlin frown. Why was he jealous?
“William, where is this secret passageway?” Merlin asked soberly.
“You have to go through the great hall, on your right.” William said, “You better take good care of her, A-Merlin.”

Okay, I wanted to make this Chapter more intriguing with a little twist and more clues on Verona’s past.  Now, I am heading to the next Chapter before I decide to rewrite the second to last paragraph again.

Have a wonderful weekend.  🙂

My Writing:Chapter10

Okay, after going over this chapter about five times I can finally move on to the next. This Chapter felt like I was going round in circles once more. For one thing  two paragraphs were bugging me.  Anyway, I think  I am finished with this Chapter for the time being. But never know with me, I  might add or delete sentences.  As for grammar errors, I might have over looked some words.

Chapter 10: Forgotten Memories (I have to rewrite this title Chapter)
“Remember steady and aim true.” The tall bearded dark haired man said kindly.
“Like this.” I heard myself, the arrow went flying into the oak tree a few feet away.
“Yes Guinevere.” His brown eyes sparkled towards a younger version of myself. “Your mother would have been proud of you now.”
“She is, Father.” A warm feeling came over me.
Nothing is want to seems Verona.  Remember this.My eyes opened, brown eyes met mine. A warm cloth was on my forehead, a hand held in my hands tightly.
Merlin, where are you? I silently thought. An imagine of a blonde woman in his arms play out. I felt sleepy once more.
He is a fool! Answered a familiar voice.
“No, do not leave us again, my dear.” the earl said seriously.
I could see the concern in his eyes and something else. Why stay when I was not wanted or needed.
Was that a dragon in his aura shadow? I silently thought. “I am so sorry for being sick in your garden.” I mumbled just as the chamber door open. I did not care who came in as I slipped into darkness.
No, I will not let it happen again Guinevere! A familiar male voice exclaimed in the distant.
A very large cold hand felt my forehead, I moan in pain. Why was I on fire?
“My omen she is burning up.” Merlin said with his hand on my forehead.
I could still hear him but I walked towards a golden meadow filled with lilies and the smell of sweet basil and honeysuckles. I was standing in the middle of a golden field filled with all kinds of flowers from roses to periwinkle and oak trees, there a little dark headed boy, he had on a blue shirt and tan pants. with piercing blue eyes sat on a swing, made of ivy leaves. A young auburn haired woman in this beautiful golden gown was next to him.(Okay, I will have to rewrite this paragraph I want to tell not show and a better description on the young woman’s dress.)
I  walked towards them now, “I can I stay here?” I did not have to see Arthur- I- I meant Merlin again. I silently thought.
The woman’s green eyes widen in disbelief, “My goddess, you are not suppose to be here yet.” she said, “You have so many things to solve in the past and future, my dear child.”
 “Verona!” A voice called out.
I saw him as I turned towards the woman now, “Why is William Scotts here?” I asked feeling a pulled towards him now.
“You must leave here now,” she said sadly, “Remember both past and present.”
I turned towards William and saw Merlin instead, “What happen to William Scotts?” I asked in confusion now.
“I am here with you, my beloved.” Merlin said pulling me into his arms.
No, you’re not! A brown cloak figure with violet eyes exclaimed.
One moment I was in this field the next I was being sucked backwards, I saw     my life passed me by.
I saw myself in green velvet gown drinking from a goblet and pushed into a lake, while an elderly man went straight into a magic stone by a dark haired woman with a strange stone necklace. I heard her evil laughter. It was not Morganna. (Okay I might have to reword this paragraph again.)
“Both my enemies are gone and no one will ever find you Merlin or Guinevere.”
I became aware of someone trying to make me swallow some liquid when I took a deep breath and pushed it away suddenly. “No, I am okay.” I said with my eyes open now to meet Merlin hard cold eyes.
Do not be stubborn Verona! “Drink it, Verona.’ he said soberly.“It is anise my secret tea. It will help your stomach.”
I did not argue with him as I drank the tea that to my surprised tasted good and like the tea my newly founded grandfather had given me this for my lighted head two days ago.
Nevertheless, I could not remember what had caused it. Then it occurred to me, it had been my necklace electrical shock. I silently thought he had asked about it and I told him, how I was giving it by a mysterious auburn haired woman, at a fair in my home town of Moon Isle.
“Verona says something to me?” Merlin asked in a worried tone.
Why? Gwen isn’t good enough for you? No, wait Morganna? I wanted reply my mind. I never felt doubt cross. This was the way I felt when William told me,
He was marrying me to keep safe from my adopted parents’ cruelness. “What happened?”
Before he could answer the chamber door open, the earl walked in carrying a tray of bread and honey. “Has the fever broken Merlin?” placing the tray on the little side table.
“Yes,” he said, “Who prepare this bread and honey?”
“Tuck and John brought it in when they heard.” the earl said, “Is she m… well?” Daughter? I thought I heard him say.
“Yes, I got her in time. The poison is all out.” Merlin said boldly while rubbing my hands.
I noticed that the earl eyes narrow a bit the gesture; however, he did not comment. “What do you mean I was poison?” I asked in disbelief.
“Someone slipped a deadly tonic in your drink.” Merlin said then towards the earl of Huntingdon. “It seems that the in-law was hoping Lady Verona would be your new interest, Robin.”
“That’s unreasonable ….” he said, “I would never have agree this.”
Not, when I know who she was. He silently thought. There was no doubt this was his real daughter.
“If you dislike her so much, why have her here?” Merlin asked soberly.
“It was not my idea.” he said soberly, “Guinevere wanted her here.” I noticed something flicker in his eyes when, “Tell me child did she happen invite you to one of her tea parties?”
“Yes,” I said  puzzled, “Does  this have something to do with my illness?”
Both men glanced towards each other with this look that said it all.
“Did you drink or eat anything?” the earl asked there was something in his eyes that looked grim.
“No, Merlin and my brother, my cousin and William Scarlett arrived just as they were serving tea.” I said turned towards Merlin now, “They were a little too nosy about my necklace and said it resembled Lady Sarah’s necklace.” I noticed the earl glanced towards my necklace, “Who is this Lady Sarah?
“May I see your necklace Lady Verona?” Robin asked soberly while keeping his facial expression unreadable.
I glance towards Merlin, who nodded. “Be warned the last one who tried touching my necklace got a shock.” I said flatly, as I pulled my necklace over my head and into my right palm. I noticed the fade symbol of a sword that was placed there by an auburn hair woman.
“My omen! This was my mother’s necklace.”  He glanced towards Merlin’s sober expression. “ Guinevere lost this, as a child when she fell into the lake” Pausing,  “Who gave this necklace to you?”
That was when it happened. A female voice exclaimed.
“It was given to me at a fair by a fortune-telling woman when I was twelve years old.” I said noticing how Merlin kept on staring at my palm.
“A gypsy.”Robin said boldly, “Can you say how she looks?”
“Oh, I’ll try, but she was no gypsy.” I said, “She was taller than I and had long wavy auburn hair to her waistline and worn a very deep purple color dress with this pendent of a dragon, her eyes were green with a spark of mystery.”
The image of the woman I dreamed of appeared in my mind and wonder if she was the one from the fair.
“Vivian?” Merlin asked, surprised. However, his eyes looked in disbelief.
You actually met her in your time?
Yes, I think I did. I silently thought then added, a rude remark. Was she not your mistress? No wait, I do not want to know. I turned towards the Earl, who eyed my necklace, then towards Merlin.
If I had a mistress, you would be the first and last to know, Lady Verona. Merlin silently thought. His eyes dare me to comment.
“You need to get her out of here before Joan  take an interest in her or  worse Guinevere recognize this necklace.” he said in despair. “This part of the manor is not bewitched, but the rest was.” Pausing, “I would never have said this, if I had not seen the sword in your hand, my dear sweet child.”
“The sword of truth, I see Vivian had her hands busy.” Merlin said, “Do you know who bewitched this place?”

Okay, I wanted to make the last two paragraphs intriguing and reveal something about the marking in Verona’s hand.  Now, I’m heading to the next Chapter before I start deleting paragraphs.

My Writing: Chapter 8

Okay, after looking over and rewriting some paragraphs, I am moving  to Chapter 9. I will leave this Chapter alone for now. But never know with me.

 Chapter 8: Old Friend
“Take her to him.” The auburn haired woman said, handed  a child with long brown hair to him now.
“I will not let you stay and face her alone, my dear sister.” A much younger Will Scarlet said.
What she had done next brought tears to my eyes as the cavern went in on her. As fast as the images came, they were gone. I meet his glance now and said, “She gave you her child to bring to her husband in the forest.” I said, feeling the cold air hit my face and Merlin’s grip my arms tightly. “But her grandmother gave her this necklace to send her to another place and time.”
Is this what I am supposed to remember? I wondered.
Yes, my sweet. A familiar voice answered back.
“She is a seer?” Bors asked puzzled.
“Merlin explains now!” William exclaimed, his facial feature  shown mixed emotions.
“She was found near Mystic Lake.” Merlin said, “Do not deny there is something amiss here in Nottingham.”
“Yes, Guinevere is not herself.” Will said, eyeing me now, “Another thing, I do not remember coming back to Huntingdon Manor. Nor being friends with the duchess.”
“That is true.” Bors said, “I was in the forest near Camelot when suddenly I am here.”
“Is this a spell we are under?” Lancelot asked.
“ We are not affected, But other are.” Merlin said boldly and then to me, “What do you think, Lady Verona?”
“The duchess is a b….” My temper soar up. I noticed Merlin’s brows rose a bit while Lancelot and the other two stood uncomfortably.  They all knew what she was! Why did Merlin let me go? I  gave him an icy glare.
“I needed to know what she was up to and who she was cohort with.” Merlin said, turning to Lancelot and Bors, “Are you surprised to see Breuse here?” (This sentence might have to be rewritten.)
“Very, I thought y-Arthur banished him from Camelot?” Lancelot said glancing towards Merlin’s unreadable facial expression then towards me. “Breuse was a very dangerous person.”
“He did.  It seems he’s Duchess Joan  new plaything.” Merlin said harshly, then he turned towards me, “If I have known this, I would not have let you go there alone.”
Why did I have this feeling  he was hiding something from me. “The duchess said, I am to be presented to the Earl tonight at the wedding.”
“Wedding, is it not too soon?” Lancelot asked, glancing towards Merlin stormy face.
“I thought Guinevere and Arthur were to wed?” I asked, shocking all four men.
“Yes, in Camelot not here.” Merlin said harshly. His eyes grew darker.“I will not allow her meddling  or have Lady Verona be presented to Robin like a trophy.”
I notice dark clouds forming over the manor and glanced towards Merlin. His piercing blue eyes grew darker, were rage and something else.
Look closely Verona. A female voice echoed. A silver aura appeared near him.
No, he could not be. I informed myself now, there was someone else whom was also a great wizard. however, he did not show many his true nature. Maybe that’s the reason why he’d lost me- her.
His blue eyes met mine and the cloud cleared a bit. “I must think,” he said, glancing towards Lancelot puzzled face, “Keep an eye on her like she is your very own sister or cousin.”
“You can count on me, Merlin.” Lancelot said grinning.
Do not steal her from me or I will not be grateful. Merlin eyes seemed to say as he turned towards me, “You will be safe with your dear cousin, my sweet.”
“I have no doubt about that.” My eyes asked in silent. When are you going to tell me your true identity ?
I will later, my beloved. Merlin eyes seemed to say as the circle was broken.
Disheartening, I slowly walked behind the other men, in silent with my head down.  I only stop when  Merlin pulled me behind a huge oak tree. I met his stormy blue eyes.  The kiss was quick and I did not have time to think.
“I will be near you at all time.” He mumbled before leaving me behind.
Oh my! I covered my heart, my hair on my arm pickle up. I glanced towards the dark eerie forest.
You will never find him!  A sinister voice echoed into the wind.
Find who?  I thought a chill came over me.

Okay, I have to admit I did add that last sentence. I just could not leave without adding a little bit of mystery.

My Writing: Chapter 7 (When Chapters Goes Wrong)

Okay, this Chapter was bugging me a bit. I could not figure out the problem, until I realized I listed the Chapter titles wrong.  Oh yes, I goofed up on the Chapter titles and page numbers. I am not perfect.

Ever have one of those days when everything is going well, then everything goes haywire all at once. Well, that’s how my day is going right. It’s no fun to rewrite chapter titles or page numbers, but that doesn’t bother me.

Chapter 7: Duchess’ Claws  (I might change this title.)

A minute later I stood in this gloomy, dark color room. The only light the shined was from a window, facing the forest. My senses were on high alert, an uneasy feeling came over me. I waited for the duchess and her two companions to enter the room.

“Oh, here you are.” Duchess Joan said. Two petite women, blonde and brunette haired girls, whom looked curiously towards me, “Girls, this is Sir Lancelot’s cousin Lady Verona.” (I will have to reword this paragraph.)

The way she stressed my name made me realized she was suspicious of whom I am too. On top of that, there was this strange, deep, evenly tanned, dark haired man with green eyes that glare my way at the entrance. He was dressed like a pirate. I did not trust him a bit.

“Please have a seat, Lady Verona.” The Duchess said, “Breuse, please send for my tea.”

“Yes, my lady.” he said, stepping out of the room.

“So, you’re Lancelot’s cousin?” the blonde with blue eye asked.(I will be adding more description to the young lady’s outfit.)

Watch what you say, Verona. A voice echoed deep into my mind now.

I said, “Yes, we are distant cousins.”

“Maria mind your manners,” the Duchess said in a disapproving tone now, “Or you will be sent to the servants”

“Of course, my lady.” She glared toward me.

“Pay no attention to her, Lady Verona.” The duchess said, eyeing my necklace,“Such A lovely necklace.”

“Oh, it looks like the one Lady Sarah has once worn.” the dark haired  girl said,“But, somehow the design is different.”

“Veronica,” the duchess said with fury in her green eyes now, “You must excuse her rudeness.” Glancing towards me, “Where did you come by this necklace?”

Be very careful, Verona. A voice echoed in my mind now.

“It was a gift from my grandmother.” I said as an image of an elderly woman with long auburn hair came to my mind now.

“When she is older she’ll know her true gift,” she had said to a medium height woman with dark auburn hair and eyes of emerald with a babe in her arms.

I blink the image away Duchess Joan glanced towards me in confusion.

“Y..- your grandmother must be proud of you?” she asked with a harsh tone both young ladies jumped and glance my way.

I was about to answer, when Breuse returned with Elaine and another young woman wearing a long colorful dress.

My instinct told me something was seriously wrong here.

“Ah, Elaine please put the tray on the table.” the Duchess said, “Lady Verona, I do not suppose you have heard of my granddaughter and young Arthur of Camelot will wed tonight?”

“I have heard there were to be a wedding when the hunting party returned.” I said uneasily now. Why did I feel sad now? I silently thought.

“Yes, they will be back shortly and you will be presented to the Earl of Huntingdon.’ the duchess said harshly now, “Who will enjoy your company isn’t that right, Brisen?”

“Oh, she will do perfectly…” she trailed off as my right hand went up; her smile froze in place she backed away. “What in…”

Her smile sent a cold chill over me, I felt a pulled of some kind, I had trouble trying to breathe, the door to the quarter flung opened, Merlin and Lancelot with two new faces I did not know entered. (Okay, I will have to look over this sentence, which is bugging me.)

“Ah, the tea party has started without us.” Lancelot said cheerfully, “Hello girls, my lady.”

“Oh, Sir Lancelot and Sir Bors.” the duchess said puzzled. “Sir William.”

I noticed Breuse stiffen a bit by the sight of these men who met his cold glare.

There was pure jealousy in his eyes and something else.

Sir Bors was slightly taller than my 5’5 and wore his black hair, to his shoulder length and probably ten years older than I.

“Duchess,” The older curly dark haired man said, narrowing his brown eye towards the other man, “Breuse? I had no idea you were here. Did you not go with the hunting party…”

“I have only arrived this morning and was a little curious about Sir Lancelot’s cousin.”

“You mean my little sister.” Bors said soberly as he gave me a warm familiar smile.

The aura around him a pure white like Merlin and the other man called William.

I heard both girls gasp in disbelief. “Oh, why did you not say you were Sir Bors’ sister.” they said quickly backing away.

The duchess icy glare towards the other man. “We would have prepared a huge meal.”

Why did this feeling like I seen this before? I thought silently

Maybe you have in a different time, my love. Merlin‘s eyes seemed to say.

Be careful of illusions, Verona!

“Yea, “the duchess said coldly, “Would you be joining us for tea?”

“Actually, we must pass.” Sir William said, unable to take his eyes off me, “The Earl would like to speak to Lady Verona.”

I felt a sudden change in the older woman’s face and her tone now, “Oh, well then she may leave.” she said boldly, “Come along girls.”

Merlin took my arms and rushes me out of the room behind; Lancelot, Bors and William, I noticed Breuse stare hard towards us as we left.

Was that a growl! I heard from him.

We quickly ran from stairs and outside, There was  a difference in the air. I felt a strong vibe now.

***

He is sleeping, only you can awaken him. A voice whispered into my ears.

Who is sleeping? I wondered Merlin glanced towards me now.

“You heard that also?” Merlin asked, keeping his hold on me.

I only Nodded.

“Merlin, who is she?” William asked in a sober tone.

I notice he stressed Merlin’s name  this puzzled me.

“Before I say let me cast an enchantment spell.” Merlin said, “What is said in the circle remain here for no one or presence to hear now. So may it be.”

I had not noticed  the large circle, until I felt pure energy shot through the ground and glance up towards Merlin, who place a finger on my lips.

“Wait a minute.” he said, “Do you see anything out of the ordinary here, Verona?”

Something was different! I glanced around people were speaking  in the distant and the smell smoke of food cooking. There was no dark aura around us. “This is Nottingham and there is no sign of  darkness.” I said puzzled, “Why does the garden feel different Merlin?”

Careful Verona! A tiny voice exclaimed in the distant, I chose to ignore it.

“Ah, very good we are where we should be.” he said, “Verona, this is William Scarlet and the one who is suppose to be your older brother is Borus.”

No way, William Scarlet! I silently thought to myself.

Okay, I wanted to make this Chapter a little intriguing with new characters. Also, a little more about Verona.  Now, Merlin may have a few surprises coming his way.  I think I am finished with Chapter 7 for now. But never know with me. Also, I may have over looked some grammar errors.

My Writing: Chapter 6

Okay, after a long two months looking over Chapter 6 and reading over Chapter 7,  I finally was able to finish editing both Chapters.  But never know with me. I can always find something wrong with one sentence or add a new paragraph.

Chapter 6: Garden Of  Mist  (I might have to change this title)

Careful Verona! A distant voice warned. Images began to play out.
A very tall white-haired bearded man and a young sandy-haired boy with blue eyes stood in front of me.This was all wrong for the child was not really a child.
They were in a circle that had ancient Celtic and Rune symbols on it. Moreover, saying a chant I swallowed hard as I stared into space at the image while Merlin held my hand tightly, “She can control fire, the griffin protect her.”
***
Another image came to me of this cavern and an auburn haired woman holding a child and a curly dark-haired man, this scene was going too fast to understand it, until I saw the woman throw out her arms and the cavern went in.
My breathing became fast,I wanted to hold on to this image. I heard her say,“You must keep her safe, Will!”
“Snap out of it Verona.” Merlin exclaimed, shaking me lightly, “I call upon the ancient ones  to show me, the truth of her visions.”
“Only, if you are ready to admit to her who you are.” A woman said in a low tone.
Dammit, you know I cannot do that with… Merlin silently thought.  “At least show her my true self.”
“I cannot.” she answered, “You must get her out of this place soon.”
My breathing had returned to normal. My eyes came upon, the silver aura that was next to Merlin. I recognize her from my dream. Who are you? I silently thought.
I am a very close and dear friend, my child. She said before she vanished.
“Are you up for a walk?” Merlin asked like nothing happens, maybe he did not see her.
“Sure.” I said, getting up from the chair and realizing that he had my hands still and pulled me into his arms and quickly kissed my lips before releasing me. “Why must you do that?”
“Because I find you very striking every second,” he whispered as he pulled me out into the corridor before I could make a comment. “Look, what is lurking here.”
There was a dark shadow around us; however, it back away when we came down the stairs. “Why have I not seen this before?” Merlin mumbled with flicked of his finger tiny light aura shot around them now.
I heard a commotion of people when we came to the last step. I glance up to see Merlin looked older. Was that a disguise spell? I silently thought as he winked his eye before turning sober.
“Say nothing to no one of where you are from,” he said in a low tone, “And furthermore watch out for those shadows.”
Why are there some many dark auras? I silently thought, feeling something dark around us.
Morganna is up to her old tricks it seems. Merlin silently thought. Maybe I can make a little charm to keep her confused a bit on your identity.
I nodded as we entered the large room where people were busying preparing food. I notice one little medium height, brown-haired person glancing our way and smiled. She reminded me of my friend Emily Soulet, whom introduced me to her cousin, William Scotts.
“Well, look who finally puts in an appearance.” she said in a kindhearted voice, “I see Lancelot’s cousin is well now.”
“Oh yes,” Merlin said uncomfortable, “Lady Verona this is Emma.”
“Hello.” I said.
“What a strange name.” she said suspiciously now, “But then again our dear Lancelot is a bit odd.” Pausing, “I heard the Earl’s mother- in-law is having tea outside.”
Was I on trial? Meeting Merlin disapproving glance. Something was fishy here I knew it.
“Yes,” Giving my arm a tug forwards. “We’ll be on your way to the garden now.”
“You will be at the feast tonight?” she asked. There was something in her green eyes, the kitchen became cold at once.
“Of course.” His eyes read things are not what is seems to be.
A second later we were walking into a large room, where servants prepared the table for the feast. I could hear some whispering by my appearances, we made our way through the great hall, until we were in this beautiful garden which appeared to be empty for now.
****
“What do you see around us, my dear?” he asked in a low tone.
I glanced around the large area that had flowers everywhere and oak trees from the eyes could see. I could see no sign of life or hear any birds chirping; however, I felt fear of something dark watching deep in the forest. On the other hand, was it a cry for help? “Where are we really?” I asked meeting his blue eyes, “this is not Nottingham.”
“Why do you say that?” he asked puzzled now.
“It does not feel like Nottingham.” I said, puzzled and wondered how I knew this, for I have never been there before.
I was about to say more when Lancelot and Elaine came our way now, the dark aura was around Elaine; however, it was not around Lancelot. “Oh, that is odd.” I mumbled as Merlin glanced towards the couple now.
She was bewitched. Merlin silently thought, disappointingly “I see we are on time for the tea party.” Merlin said.
“Sorry to break the news, the Duchess decided to take her tea in her private parlor.” Lancelot said, glancing towards me with a smile, “I am glad to see you are well, cousin.”
“As well as she can be, Lancelot.” Merlin said in a jealous tone.  I  notice the younger woman jealously subsided.
“I will bring Lady Verona to the duchess quarters.” Elaine said.
Whatever happens, I will be with you. Merlin silently thought.
“Come now, Lady Verona.” Elaine said boldly, “We do not want to let the duchess wait on us.”
I could help notice both stared towards us as we left.  We were entering the large hall when I looked back to see Lancelot lecturing Merlin. Lancelot  then slapped Merlin behind his head
***
“Why did you let her go, A-Merlin?” Lancelot asked a minute later.
“I had to.” he said, glaring towards his friend, “Since when has the Duchess been in cohort with m- Morganna?”
“I have no idea.” Lancelot said, “What are we up against, Merlin?”
“Something very evil.” he said.
You must not get involved! A wind gust echoed.
Merlin’s skin pickle, he turned towards Sherwood Forest. A dark shadow with Red eyes stared back.
Merlin help her! A female’s  voice exclaimed.

Okay, I wanted to add a little mystery in the last two paragraphs and reveal something about Merlin.

Well, I am heading now to Chapter 7, before I decide to start cutting out sentences.

My Writing: Chapter 5

Okay, I finally finished with my Chapter 5, I just could not leave this Chapter alone. First I cut and then I rewrote the original paragraph.  Hopeful, I am I finished with this chapter for now, but never know with me.  As for any errors I may have over look some words.
Chapter 5: Dangerous Encounter  (I think I will be changing the title for this chapter.)
The door swung open once more  and Merlin  appeared in the chamber. He froze by the sight of me. I was in the process of braiding my long brown hair now when he came to my side and stop me.
(Okay, this paragraph is really bugging me and after reading it over. I think I will be cutting it once more.)
“No, let me.” he said lowly into my ear. “Your hair is as satin silk.”
Stunned,  for a moment those were the exact words…Oh, why could I not say his name.
“You resemble a Princess,” He said, retrieving a silver mirror from inside his robe pocket, “See for yourself.”
A golden crown with a blue stone appeared on my forehead, I felt fear raise within me. I frowned handing the mirror back to Merlin.
“Is something wrong?”
“Oh no, it is beautiful, Merlin,”  I said avoiding his eyes.
“Why do you deny the truth, Verona?” he asked, “Maybe, I should show how beautiful you really are.”
“Why not cast spell to sent me back home?” I asked. He looked surprised and hurt by my out busted. But only for a moment.
He was about to comment when a knock came, Lancelot entered with a younger dark haired boy. carrying tray entered.
He cannot send you back! A female’s voice echoed, I glanced from Merlin then towards Lancelot.
“Sorry, I took so long.” Lancelot smiled, “A better gown, Lady Verona,” He ignored Merlin cold glare. “Where do you want this, Merlin?”
“You can place it on the bench,” he said soberly.
The young dark haired, slim built boy stared towards me with a nervous glance.
There was something about him, that reminded me of  my  second cousin, Tim.  I also noticed the resemblance between Lancelot and him. I glanced towards Lancelot, who was watching me, “Dear cousin who is this?”
He glanced towards Lancelot.
“This is Galahad, my boy.” He said proudly, “Your second cousin, Verona.”
I thought Lancelot did not know of Galahad being his son. I was puzzled, Merlin  gave me a questionable look. “Hello.” I said smiling.
All things are not what it seems, my Sweet. A familiar male voice echoed.
“Lady Verona,” He had this charming grin, “Nice to meet you.”
“Same here and Thank you.” I said, glancing down at the bowl. “What is this, Lancelot?”
“Peas and potato soup with some of my herbs.” Merlin said, “This tea is mint and basil for your headache. It’s from my herbal garden”
How did he know I used basil to made tea. I met his eyes that said, “I know more about you than you think, Verona.”
“We’ll leave you now, my dear cousin.” Lancelot said, “Merlin a word with you.”
“Go ahead and eat, Lady Verona.” Merlin said, “I will be right back.”
***
I sat in the huge chair which had more cushion than a regular chair. If I had been paying close attention, I would have wondered why a modern chair was here in this time. However, I was to hungry to think straight.  I took a small sip of the soup. To my surprise, the potato soup was well seasoned with salt and I did taste a hint of basil. (I will be changing the food description also.  )
This was not bad for medieval times. I blinked in disbelief was I actually in a different time?
“Are you sure?” Merlin asked loudly from the half closed entrance door.
I heard Lancelot said “yes.”
Merlin cursed violently.
“I won’t have that.” Entering the chamber again.
I glance towards his red face, something burn into his eyes before it faded.
“Is something wrong?” I asked, worried.
“Oh no, the hunting party is returning,” Merlin said frankly, “The Duchess wants to present you to her son-in-law, the Earl of Huntingdon.”
Say what! My eyes widen in disbelief, “Are you serious?”
My heart was beating fast. This was similar to the time I meet my real parents and grandfather. I started to shiver.
The memory of that day came flowing back. I saw myself walking into a well kept, estate behind, a sandy haired, handsome built young man with blue eyes.
Entering the well decorated living room, which was filled with five well dressed stranger enjoying a conversation until we walked in. Everything became quiet; the only sound was the housekeeper gasp and a tray falling to the floor, the elderly man and woman glance my way. From their expression, I was a surprise to them all.
As sudden as the vision came it was gone, leaving bits a pieces of my life. I remember working for a detective agency that located missing children and people. However, why was I with Nicholas Scotts on the strange estate…  England? I blinked.
“Where did you just go, my dear?” he asked, holding my hands in  his. “Is it possible for you to…. No, I should not think of that.”
Taken aback, I asked, “What do you mean?”
“One moment you were sitting here, the next you was fading away.” Merlin said, “Could it be you’re remembering something? Tell me.”
Careful to what you say! A voice warned.
“I was searching for a missing child with my employer.” I said,  “I  was being shown a piece to  a puzzle.”
Yes, a puzzle but I will not I lose you once more, my beloved. His eyes seemed to say to me.
“I am not your beloved.” I said as his hand dropped down from mine suddenly, in confusions. “ I need to know why and how came to be here.”
“Yes, I know my dear.”  Meeting my eyes, “ But I said this in my mind for you not to hear.”
“Oh, I…” Lost in word my face felt very hot from embarrassment.
“Hmm, I wonder what else you have heard.” With a grin before it turned into a frown. “Tell me, what were you dreaming about when I came in with Guinevere?”
I cannot say in here, Merlin. A dark aura lurks across the room. “I do not remember.” He must have sensed something, his glazed went towards the wall.
“Well, I’ll be.” Spreading his hands out, “What came into this chamber be gone, by the purest of light.”
The aura vanishes The ray of a bluish light appeared. Merlin piercing blue eyes met mine.
“Were there any when you admit of hearing my thoughts?” Taking my hands in his now.
Watch it, He will play you!
“No, it crept in when you said Gwen.” I said using the nickname and glance towards the walls.
“Ah, I had a feeling that was who sent the spell.” he said rubbing my right hand.
“She can cast a spell?”
An image of a young girl came to mind.
For all I knew, she was one of my imaginary friends, from my childhood.
Okay,I wanted this to sound intriguing and add a bit more pieces to Verona’s past. It’s seems like Verona has a few surprises for Merlin, whom may have some surprises also.
Now, I will leave this chapter alone for awhile and head towards Chapter 6.

My Writing: Chapter 4

Okay, I was able to edit this chapter without cutting out sentences, which I probably will have to do later on.  As for errors I might have over looked some.
Chapter 4 :  Childhood Memories
No, Merlin was not jealous by Lancelot’s remark. I thought, noticing his dark brown haired was now shoulder, his beard  had less gray from earlier. Why was I seeing him in a new light that made my heart skip a beat?
He was staring towards my face puzzled, I met his gaze for a moment, another man  kissing me.
You will always be mine, A male’s voice said in the distance.
He felt the strong pull of a very powerful energy around them, this was not the darkness in the manor. He sighed, “Verona what is it?”
With his hands over mine now, I found it difficult to speak I felt a strange pull towards him.
Do not deny your true feelings, Verona. A female voice whispered in my mind.
Stubbornly, I ignored  the voice, lowering my eyes with embarrassment, “It was nothing.” I said flatly, “I am wondering why Guinevere, thought I would like these clothing.” I pulled hard on the clothing top; which was revealing too much skin to my liking.
“Ah, yes indeed I thought the same,” In a husky tone, before it became serious. “What exactly did she say to you?”
“She asks who I was and tried to come close to my bed, she got shocked.”  His dark brows shot up suddenly. ” Lady Elaine seemed jealous at the sight of me?”
You do not say, So she was trying to find out whom Verona was. He silently thought to himself.  Opening the medium size jar. “Hmm, I think I will keep a close eye on her and her grandmother.” he said, placing as ointment on her forehead now, “Why did I not see this before?”
I noticed his eyes on my necklace “What?” Drawn his mouth.
“You have a very powerful protector in this stone.” he said lightly touching the  bluish stone. It  felt warm from being in between her bosoms. His mind did not ponder there long.”Were you by any chance born in the sign of fire?”
My short poems I have written in my seventh grade class came rushing back to me.
(Note here: I want readers to think medieval time. Some words will have Thy or thee. Also I am not good at poetry.)
Thy person who is born,
In thy sign of fire,
Shall have thy golden griffin,
As a protector.
***
Thy person, who bears Thy mark of thy griffin
Shall rule the land of the griffin once more.
Those two poems made me the laughing-stock of my class. My adopted parents were outraged by such nonsense. I was hurt in front of the whole class, well except my best friends s did not laugh or teased.  Could to think of it now, they had this sober expression. Strange why was I thinking of them and those two poem?(I might have to edit this part once more.)
Are you sure it is a poem and not  a spell. My dear child? A woman’s voice asked.
“I have no idea.” I said flatly, “I was adopted when I was a newborn,”
He took note before, he cupped my face in his hands.  “I am truly sorry,” he place a warm kiss my forehead. “Put this on, I will be outside.”
The velvet green gown had gold trimming on its short sleeves. “Is this what the Duchess brought?” I asked puzzled.
“You will never wear anything from that witch.” he said soberly walking out the bed-chamber with the garment.
Puzzled and confused, I took the dress to the screen. Was I fallen for this mysterious man known as Merlin.
No, it is only the curse. A familiar man voice said in the distance.

Okay, I wanted to make this last sentence mysterious and intriguing. As for the poems, if they would be considered to be one, I wanted to add,  more clues to Verona’s past.

My Writing: Oh, No Missing Chapters!

Okay, after a few minor setback in my writing, I think I can get back to my Chapters.  As for minor setback. Picture editing a few chapters and suddenly realize two important Chapters are missing.

Oh yes, this happened to me.  I told myself not worry, I have it in my rough drafts folder on my computer.

I opened  this  folder went through the chapters. Now, I was starting to worry,  I could not find it nowhere.  I did eventually find the rough draft copy.

It was the last place,  I  did not want it to be in. Now, I am glad I do not empty my recycle bin often. Or I would not be a happy camper.

Anyway, here is a recap of  Chapter 3,( I rewrote this chapter about four times now. However, this is the last time I will posting it. Unless I find something wrong again. But never know with me.

A recap of Chapter 3 : Rivals
A knock came at the door,  Merlin  stood with a small jar in hand. His eyes glance my way only for a moment.
Was that a spark of interest? I thought shaking the idea. His face became red with fury.
“What is this?” Merlin roared out. Never in his years of knowing Elaine had she ever done something so childish as this.
“The clothing Lady Guinevere said to bring.” she said bluntly.
“Ah, I see.” His eyes went astray towards her chest, turning towards Elaine. “This is not  a proper outfit for a young maiden from a respectful family, nor is she a tavern maiden, Elaine!” His blue eyes met her eyes,  she backed away suddenly. “Now be gone.”
Her eyes matched his glare before heading out the door.
Pig headed fool! “Y-yes oh, great one.” she bowed, hurrying away. Nearly bumped into Lancelot.
“Hey, Lana wait up.” Lancelot said, puzzled, carrying velvet green dress, with a well dress woman. “Look who I found.”
“Oh, Duchess Joan, this is an honor.” Merlin said, placing a kiss on the side of her face.
“Merlin.” she said flatly.
Her tight mouth held a disapproving  gaze towards Merlin. She did not seemed old, her facial feature revealed, a youthful face and something else, I could not place.
Look deeper my Dear. A woman’s voice said.
“Oh wow, I mean. Who brought you those clothing, dear cousin?” he asked stunned.
“Lady Guinevere thought it would be nice on me.” I said tightly and uncomfortable now as the older woman stared at me or was it my necklace.
“I think these are much better, dear,” she said with a kind smile.“Hmm…,my dear granddaughter does not know nice clothes when she sees it.”
And do you! A female voice echoed in the distance of my mind.
A look of puzzlement cross her face, “Oh, Thank you my Lady.” I mumbled.
“You’re welcome.” the Duchess said, “I will be honored to have you for tea this afternoon.”
I could not help noticing  Merlin and Lancelot looked surprise.
“If she is up to walking, that is?” she asked glaring towards both men.
“Oh yes, will you have tea in the garden?” Merlin asked warmly.
What was going on! The room was freezing! I glanced towards Merlin, who kept his gaze on the Duchess.
“Hmm, the garden will nice.” she said smoothly.
Why was he protecting me? I notice Lancelot glance his way now. There was something odd about him or was it that he reminded me of my… I cannot remember whom.
“That does sound good, since she has been up here for a whole  day.” Lancelot said, “But will your ladies in waiting wonder about my cousin bruises?”
“Oh no, I will make sure Lady Veronica and Maria act ladylike.” she said frankly, “However, you how teens like to act. I will leave you now, dear.”
“Let me see your hand.” Merlin said boldly, his eyes however, roamed towards  my chest.
Obeying, I gave him my hand as he passed the ointment over my bruised, the smell of mint and menthol. I felt like I was drifting back to sleep.
“Easy Verona,” he said concern now. “Lancelot tell the cook to fix some food and tea for your cousin.”
“I will.” Lancelot said, “While I am at it, I will find out what was bothering Lana.”
“This outfit is why she was upset.” Merlin said, “Guinevere has no respect for your cousin’s reputation.” Pausing, “You know her grandmother will spread rumors around.”
Lancelot knew that tone in his old friend’s voice and  was ready for anything from a frog or a cat. His friend  two favorite spells However, his friend would not do any of this in front of this young woman.
He knew right off, what his friend was thinking and pondered a spell of coldness.
****
I was waiting for  fists to be thrown.  Lancelot’s brown eyes met Merlin’s  blue eyes, the room became icy. My skin pickle up. ( I will Have to change this part.)
“I could not help it, Merlin.” he said, stressing out, “The duchess asked about Verona .”
“That old nosy, b….” Merlin mumbled for my ears only. “Then I guess we will have no choice to meet with her at tea time.”
“You’re kidding, right?” Lancelot asked at the door, “You know how she is about extra guests to her little party.”
“Oh yes, I know.” Merlin said with his hands still on mine.
Oh, he had known of the duchess reputation with her tea parties and powerful in dark magic she was.
But mine is stronger.
Merlin gave me an odd look. Had he heard also?
“I would never leave my love in the same room with her and her young girls.”  It was just tea, Right?
“No need to worry, I will be there, Merlin,” he said with this charming look towards me, in the doorway now. He knew this would surely get his friend in an uproar, he did not care. “Your food and tea will be up soon, my dear sweet cousin.”
Merlin shot Lancelot a pair of eyes. That could have been two darts, Merlin’s  hands waved towards the doorway and shut in Lancelot’s face, which, he did not offense Lancelot.  (I think I will be looking over this sentence once more.)
“A good one Merlin.” Lancelot said laughing.
I heard him laughing.
Splash!
“D…. Merlin!” Lancelot mumbled.
Okay, this is the last of Chapter 3 for now.
