I am always amazed by my photos I have taken.

One lucky photo shot..

As March went on by, April brought these beautiful flowers  from the Mamou Tree/Coral Bean tree.

I waited for this little fellow to return each year. I had to zoom in for the photo shot.

This little hummingbird paid a nice visit

Take a closer look.

Okay, these two photo shots were my favorite photos from April.

Have a wonderful week!  😊

Frozen Roses
Frost formed on the leaves.

My Writing: A Personal Essay Revisits

Since it is rice harvest season I decided to revisit my personal essay. Now, I will move on from my personal essay.

Haunted Fields

From dawn to dust, he walks the lonely fields, each day
With his shovel over his shoulder.
He checks for thing astray in the fields.
Those whom recognized him remarks,
He hasn’t grown old since the day,
they first got together with him.
He, still wears his old straw cowboy hat
Blue faded long sleeves shirt and pants.
He still wears his green hip boots.
To walk in the murky water of the rice field
Now, he does not speak to many.
Plenty, have spoken with him in the predawn hours.
From words, He wanders in the distance rice fields.
They recognize his shovel over his shoulders.
Others caught sight of him driving an old John Deere tractor with plow,
in a field but disappears in their presence.
The only visible sign of him, being here is a single distant
sound of a John Deere tractor’s steam whistle in twilight sky.
No one understands why he walks the fields.
If they knew, they will shed a tear.
Someday, his journey for his family’s crest
will be over for him.
Until, then he never rest.

My Photo: A Hummingbird’s Visit

Okay, I took these photo shots last week. I have to admit these photos came out okay. Even though, I took these photo shots from indoors.

This little hummingbird paid a nice visit

This was once lucky photo shot.

Take a closer look.

I was looking out the window, when I noticed this little hummingbird.  I hurried for my camera and hoped this little hummingbird did not fly away. Sure, enough the hummingbird was still in the Mamou tree.  🙂

This hummingbird was busy.

Once this little hummingbird was finish. It flew away.

Have a nice week!  🙂

My Photo: If Geese Could Talk

Okay, when I took this photo shot, an idea formed. I wondered, What if I add a few words. My first try on a short comic about these four geese that looked lost.

If geese could talk, this is what they would say. Creative Commons License A Short Conversation Between Geese by V. Rose Demet is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.

If geese could talk, this is what they would say.  I might have to redo the fonts for the second sentence, which should read. “Of course, keep going south.”

Okay, I think this photo shot came out okay, as for this short comic I might keep this short comic or put it aside for a while. But never know with me. Sometime a little laughter is needed, for a rough day.

Have a great weekend.  🙂

My Writing: 14 Years Ago Today

Okay, this little essay was written a few years back, Today it’s a dedication to my Dad, who was a rice farmer for fifty something years before retiring.  14 years ago we lost my Dad (Heart attack. That’s all I will say for now. That was the first upside down and nightmare.)

Anyway, after reading this essay and editing once more, I  can say I am finish with this essay… Unless, I find something wrong. But never know with me.

Haunted Fields

From dawn to dust

He walks the lonely fields, each day,

With his shovel over his shoulder.

He checks for anything amiss in the fields.

 Those whom seen him says,

He hasn’t aged since the day

They first met him.

He, still wears his old straw cowboy hat

Blue faded long sleeves shirt and jeans.

Of course, he still wears his green hip boots.

To walk in the murky water of the rice field.

Now, a days he does not speak to many.

Maybe to those whom seen him in the per-dawn hours.

From what I have heard.

He walks in the distance rice fields.

They know it’s him by his shovel

over his shoulders.

Others seen him on John Deere tractor

plowing away in a field

and mysteriously vanish by their presence.

The only sign of him, ever being there

is the lonely distance sound

of a John Deere tractor’s whistle

fading into the sunset.

No one knows why he walks the fields.

If they did, they would have tears in

the eyes.

Maybe someday his search will be over

and he’ll finally rest.

Maybe next year, I will write about that day.

Maybe next year, I will write about that day.

Last but not least a new little Rose bush is blooming.. Roses was my Dad’s favorite flower also.  He could take a Rose branch and plant it in the ground and a few months later. The Rose bush would be growing. He had a green thumb for gardening.

Okay, I took this photo shot a few days ago after a little rain shower. Oh yes, it got hot again when the sun came out. But this is a typical Southwest Louisiana summer time weather.

After a rain shower passed over my home.
