My Writing: Huntingdom’s Manor

I will try to post updates on my writing twice a week, if the internet allow me to. Not fun when it goes out. ☹

One

Huntingdom’s Manor

Remember me as I am not what I have become, my sweet love.

His words echoed in mind, as I stirred from a deep sleep.

Tick! Tick! Snap! What in the world? I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar

room.

Bells shriek in my head. Where am I?

Someone stirred in a mahogany chair near the fireplace.

Curious, I slipped off the bed.

Wow! I glanced towards the handsome dark-haired stranger asleep in a

sitting position.

Who is he? Fear spread over me. Did we?

No, my gentlewoman.” His roguish blue eyes met mine.

Why does his accent sound odd? light-headed and weak, I grabbed the chair.

Two strong arms wrap around my waistline. “Easy, you were injured in the

forest.”

What forest?

No matter how hard I could not remember.

W-where am I?”

We are in Huntingdom manor.” His blue eyes met mine.

Huntingdom?” A chill rushed through my arm

Yes, are you not familiar with the manor?”

Remember! A voice command.

Pain spread through my head. “Ouch!”

I will get old Merlin.” He informed. “He will check your wounds.”

Merlin?

Strange, she does not recognize him. He gazed towards her Why did she

arrive here?

Sure.” My eyelids felt heavy.

Blurry images and voices surrounded me.

You need to remember them! A male stated.

My sweet goddess!” A stranger stated.

My eyes fluttered open.

Blue eyes met mine.

She is beautiful. “Do you know her?” He asked the other stranger.

No, should I?”

I kept my eyes lower and quiet.

Lancelot!” He resents his friend sarcastic remark.

He met someone. Ouch! I shrank.

Who did he meet? A gruff male voice answered.

Oh my, her energy is disappearing. “You are in pain?” He acted fast.

His icy fingers touched my temple, I straighten.

I am checking for pain.” He pointed out. “I found it.”

Warmth surrounded me.

A dark aura appeared and hissed.

Leave here!” He commanded.

In seconds, the aura disappeared.

Memories raced through my mind.

Oh my goodness the whirl! My heart skipped a beat.

I will find you, Verona.” A familiar voice echoed

Your thoughts returned, my beloved child.” He proclaimed.

Sorcery?” Lancelot glanced towards her.

Where the stranger from earlier?” I inquired.

Da–! She remembers.

Who?” Merlin stated. “No, I know the person.”

Prologue

Trap

~~◊◊~~

The one who holds the key shall suffer heartaches and betrayal..

In secrecy, I studied the royal family who mingled with

aristocrats and their spouses. A traitor is among us. I held my

weapon hilt beneath my cloak.

A dark-haired aristocrat glanced my way.

Who is he?

You must protect him. Answered, a woman in my conscience.

A queasy feeling settled within my stomach. I gazed towards the

ceiling.

Blazing eyes met mine. We meet once more, Princess.

No, how is it possible?

Grr! A low revolted sound formed in my colleague.

A whirlwind encircled us.

What is transpiring?”

I will find you, my Love!”

I met his violet eyes. Now you call me, your love!

Do not be stubborn, Verona!

A-!” The cyclone dragged me from my companion’s forearm.

My Writing: A Short Preview

My Writing: A Short Preview
After many hours of delete paragraphs and rewrites. I decided to share a short sample of my work -in-progress.  Now, I will admit I disliked deleting paragraphs but it had to be done.  Anyway, here is a short sample I checked in Grammarly and ProWritingAid for now I am leaving this Prologue a lone.

Prologue: Trap

In silence, I studied the royal family who mingled with aristocrats and their spouses.

Somebody is a traitor. But who? I held my weapon hilt beneath my cloak.
A large full whiskered, black-haired aristocrat darted my way.Who is he?
You must protect him. Answered, a woman in my consciousness.
A nauseous sensation rose up from my stomach. I gazed towards the ceiling.
Fiery eyes met mine. We meet once more, Princess.
My heart stopped.
Grr! A low revolted from my colleague.
A whirlwind encircled us.
“What is transpiring?” My fingers slipped from his.
“I will search for you, my Love!”
“A-! ” The cyclone dragged me from my companion’s forearm.

Oh yes, I have a cliffhanger for my characters.

Of course, I could not leave without introducing my new four legged friend.  I took this photo with my webcam. I think this photo came out okay. He’s twice that size now.

Puppy love

This little pup can bring a smile to a person’s face and cheer them up. Meet my little four legged friend Bandit.

Have a wonderful week ☺

My Writing: Revisiting My First Prologue

My Writing: Revisiting My First Prologue

Oh, I am having one of those days where everything, I read looks awful including some of my past posts. Which means some posts from the past, will be making a few appearance in the future.

Anyway, when I wrote this post, I was unsure about the Prologue title or page numbers. Each time I read the Prologue pages, there was something wrong with the paragraphs. This gave me a headache and bugged me. But after reading once more, I decided I had to cut a lot of pages.

Anyway, here is my work in progress.

Prologue: The Curse
The wind whipped through my long auburn hair. I stood before the one who betrayed my family. My eyes met his bitter blue eyes.
“I ask you once more, Grandmother.” The bearded man replied. “Where is the stone?”
“I will never tell you, John.” I replied.
“Old woman, you are foolish.” A young blonde woman commented next to her.
“No, you are the foolish one.” I stated. “For those who marry your children shall be cursed.”
“She must be mad!” The crowds exclaimed.
The young king swung towards them. “Silence!” He roared out. “Your words mean nothing to me, Grandmother.”
“Oh, you should, John.” My green eyes met his. “Each night green eyes shall visit you.”
“We have our mystic to break any curse you cast upon us, Grandmother.”
I glanced towards the stranger. He had black magic within him. Only mine was more powerful.
“No mystic can get around this curse.” I answered. “Only 13 noblemen shall break this curse.”
“Enough!” He exclaimed. “Get rid of her.”
“With pleasure, Sire.” The hangman replied. He grabbed his victim with his strong arms.
I discovered the black atmosphere surrounded him. Something dark and ancient was in the air, I glanced towards the stranger. “You’re a dark one.”
The hangman placed the noose around her neck, the crowd glance with interest. While others began to laugh, drink, and dance.
Oh my! It’s an enchantment spell! I thought.
In, the shadowy corner of the castle’s walls. An archer shot a pure golden arrow and pierced the rope. Before anyone could react. A thick blue mist formed around she  as she vanished.
The stranger turned towards the crowd, the archer vanished. While a dark shadow formed around the crowd. No one saw it, nor known their faith that evening. The sky turned dark reddish and blueish.  A Griffin formed in the distant cloud.
Her curse rang through out time.

I think I will keep my new Prologue for now. But never know with me.

Last but not least here is a photo shot, I took of the sunset a few weeks ago. I zoomed in for an angle shot. I think this photo shot came out okay.

A very cold evening in Southwest Louisiana

My Writing: A Short Preview

Okay, I admit I was going to leave my writing alone until after the holiday. Well, I realized one thing that was not going to happen I need to write. If I am not writing my work in progress, I am thinking of my future goals. I am taking very small steps before a giant leap.

Anyway here’s a sneak peek of my work in progress, that will offer new clues to Verona’s meeting with Robin, who has dark secrets.

Thought the misty forest he emerges. His heart is bitter for revenge on those, whom did him wrong. He steps forward towards the lake with his bow is in his right hand. His beast is ready for food. He halt, the icy wind slams into his face. My goddess!
There on the lake’s edge lies a young brunette woman. Ready for the lake to claim her once more.
She felt two strong arms around her waistline.
“Don’t move, Child.” A deep voice replied. “I’ll have you safe in a minute.”
You cannot keep her safe for long, Robin. A sinister voice in the distance stated.
Be gone you sinister, B….!
He threw his hands into space. His beast hunted now.
He lifted the young maiden and  entered his forest once
more.
Aaron watched Robin carried Verona into the misty forest. He stepped through the dark shield, the forest allowed him entrance. He is the ancient one.

So, They are after him.

Dark green eyes meet his violet eyes. “You may pass ancient old.” A woman replied, “Keep them safe.”

Now, we know where Verona went to. But is she safe with Robin?

My Writing: Epilogue

Okay, I have to admit when I first started writing this rough draft on post I was not sure I would finish editing it. Well, I proved myself wrong. After months of writing and editing this rough draft, I finally finished. Little sad to see this story end(for now that is.) And happy to be finally finish with this part.

Epilogue
Deep in a cavern a mist formed. A hooded man appeared. “She is in Sherwood.”
Hiss came from the dark corner. “My followers will find her and the keys.”
He bowed to leave. He hated this place and time.
“Is there more to report?”
“A younger woman appeared.”
Fiery eyes opened. “Who?”
“I do not know. I sensed darkness within her.”
“Her?” It hissed.
“Yes. A teenager with strange sword skills.” He cautioned.
“Her name?” It hissed furiously.
“Goes by Raven.” He replied.
Grr.. Came from the corner. “Find her.”
Okay, I will admit one thing the hooded man may or may not be Arthur. (Work in progress.)

Now, my next step is to leave this draft alone for a few days or weeks. Then read over and edit again. But never know with me.  I might decide to add a few other work in progress.
Oh, so many photo shot to choose from. This one was taken back in 2013.

No matter what others say. Always follow your dreams…

My Writing: Chapter 20

Okay, after rewriting and deleting paragraphs in this Chapter, I decided to leave this Chapter alone for now. But never know with me.

Chapter 20: The Puzzle(I might keep this title. But never know me.)
“I see you’re still the same, Mordred. I should be asking why do you have my little cousin here?” Bailey Silverstone folded his arms. “Verona, we’re in the Dragon’s Lair on Moon Isle.”
My heart thumps fastest. “What! I thought I was in Sherwood Forest..” I glanced towards Mordred puzzled face.
Mordred eyed the elder man in disbelief. How could it be possible? Did he hear him correctly. “Your cousin?”
It’s true Mordred. A distant voice echoed.
“Yes, she’s my cousin.” His brown eyes glared towards Mordred, then towards Verona.” Are you okay, Verona? What is this nonsense of Sherwood Forest?”
“It’s not nonsense Bailey.” A wave of dizziness came over me. “Oh no! I have to help them.”
You will, but you need to bring them together.
“Together?” I gazed towards the silver aura behind Nicholas.
“You must find the thirteen keys.”
In a trance like state, I said, “Only the thirteen keys and its’ guardians can destroy the creature of an ancient time.” I stood in a golden field surrounded by a temple and crystal water. The sky was greenish, the wind kept blowing furiously through my hair making it tough to concentrate on the scenery.
“Sh**!” Mordred felt a powerful presence. “You know of this!”
“What?” I glanced towards Mordred Nicholas stunned face.
Bailey grabbed Mordred’s shirt collar. “What kind mind game are you playing with her?”
A gust of wind pushed Bailey away from Mordred. “Do not touch the Forest Spirit guardian’s son!” A Female voice echoed.
My body shook, a wave of nausea came over me. “Is this another trick?” I was holding my stomach in so much pain.
“No Mother,” Mordred took her hand. My heavens she doesn’t realize her true power! “Do not faint!”
“What did you call her?” Bailey roared, his inner beast came alive.
“My mother.” Mordred sensed the beast awaken, “Watch it Hunter, you do not want to over stay your visit.”
No, His real mother was… “You’re lying.”
“He is not lying.” I held up my hand, palm facing out.
“My goddess, you’re one of us!” Gibson called out loudly. “The blade of truth is imprinted in her palm.”
“Well, not one of our kind, but…” Tristan said frankly.
“Tristan, no time for your joke.” Gibson said, elbowing him in the ribs.
“Verona, you have lots of explaining.” Bailey stated in a serious tone. Then realized someone was lacking here. “Wait, where is Ar-William Scotts.”
My eyes widened in surprise. What?
Before Mordred could react, a fist found his jaw. He glared towards the owner.
“What are you doing with my Guinevere!” His downcast eyes were a dark with fury. After Modron delayed him. He hurried towards Mystic Lake, hoping Verona was in that location.
“She is not here.” Vivian said in a depressed tone, “She is in the Dragon’s Lair with Mordred.”
He looked at her with suspicious eyes. “Why are you helping, Vivian?”
“It’s a long story.” She smiled, “Besides, Guinevere is much mature than her older self. Why not asks Sarah, whom the Forest Spirit guardian?”
A mist formed around him and now he bore in the Dragon Lair. What he saw shocked him .
Tristan, Gibson, Mordred and Bailey stared towards him.
I glanced towards Merlin, his aura was stronger. “Merlin, how did you get here?”
“D….., Verona.” Bailey shook his head in disbelief, “Merlin is trapped somewhere. This is..”
“Who are you?” His secret was out.
“My family has been guarding his stone of wisdom for centuries.” Bailey roared, “You should know this Arthur Pendragon Plantagenet!”
No! My legs buckled. He pulled me into his strong, well-built arms, I am lost in words.
The sight of two couple meeting, dancing, driving horses and dueling came to my head. Warmth surrounds me. “Arthur.” I whispered in a low tone. “It’s been a long time.”
“My Sweet, Guinevere.” He embraced me.
“No, my name is Verona.” I stepped away from him.
You had many names and lives, but three you must remember now. A child echoed.
“Still stubborn my love.” He whispered in my ear.
“Of course Arthur.” I turned towards Mordred, who now sported a bruised jaw. I stepped next to him. “You have a bruised.”
“It will heal, M-Verona.” Mordred said removing her hand from his face. “This isn’t the first time he throws a punch.”
I turned towards Arthur. “You don’t have to be jealous of him.”
“I am not jealous of my son.” Arthur said with a serious face.
“Finally, he admits I am his son.” Mordred folded his arms.
 “Careful Mordred.” Arthur warned.
“Don’t even touch him, Arthur.” I gave him my best glare.
“Someone finally takes my side.” Mordred said.
“Why did you not tell me!”Oh boy! Mother or not, she is one steamed brunette. He inched away from her. “Oh, for Pete sake, get a hotel room.” he mumbled to his father.
My eyes widen, I glanced from father and son. Why had I not discovered the similarity. Something in the exchange triggered a memory for me. “It was you in the chair.” I realized, “Why did you lie?”
“An enchantment spell.”
Mordred glanced towards his father, his aura was a mix color. Damn! He was shielding his true form. Which meant..
Bailey Silverstone roared, “Someone better start talking.”
“I will explain later, Hunter.” Mordred said, “Now, why has Modron resurfaced.”
“No, telling what Morganna was up too.” Gibson mumbled.
“He was my English teacher.” I glanced towards Arthur. “Who brought me to Nottingham?”
“I have no idea.” He shook his head, “Maybe Vivian.”
“No.” Mordred meet Verona’s puzzled expression, “Do you remember what happened?”
“We were in Nottingham at a cottage.” I avoided Arthur’s stare, “My employer said something I did not care to hear.”
Why were you in Nottingham Verona? A distance voice echoed
An image of a wooden bridge and a huge deeply tanned hand with a strange designed bracelet on their left wrist reached for me.
I glanced towards the figure face only Bailey interrupted my concentration.

Okay, I am saying good-bye to this Chapter, before I find something wrong with it.  Anyway, in this Chapter I wanted to reveal Verona and Merlin secrets. Merlin may have a few more secrets.

My Writing: A Chapter Rewrite

Okay, I here I go again, I have to admit after reading Chapter 19 again.  I just could not leave this Chapter alone, I had to rewrite and delete some paragraphs, which I was not to happy to delete.

Here’s a question, Ever had one of those days when nothing seemed to be going well in writing. Thinking  the chapter is good, only to read it a few days later and find it’s not?  Well, I having one of those day, I feel like I am going in circle trying to fix one paragraph or another.  While Seasonal allergies is kicking in. Itchy watery eyes.  L

Anyway,  I think I am finished with this Chapter for now. But never know with me.

Chapter 19:Dragon’s Lair (I may change the title to Present time, which I find did not give an idea to the place my main character is in.)
“Who is she, Mordred?” The hooded male asked with a strong, rugged accent.
His cloak covered his facial expression but Mordred knew he was furious.
“My real mother,” Mordred met dark eyes. “Aaron, you’ve known her as another.”
How? His connection to Verona had been a well kept secret.
“Mordred, there’s trouble in your secret office.” The blond haired male said from  the door, “Geoffrey is with your friend.”
Who granted him entrance to my private office? “Dam nit! Come on, Tristan.” Mordred said, “Aaron, find out why Modron appeared in Sherwood.” He realized his mistake too late.
Grr! A low growl came out from him. No one never dared to give him orders since his existence. His eyes darken, he’ll make an exception this one time.
My heart thumps faster, I had to leave this icy dark tunnel. How do I get out? Searching for an exit, a light breeze  touched my arm. A child with dark wavy hair appeared before me.
“You must discover the truth.” Her eyes were a dark charcoal color. “And the curse they suffered.”
A mist formed around me, I now found myself in this strange courtyard. Huntingdon Manor?
Merlin help me. I thought.
“We’re not Nottingham, Verona.” The youngster said beside me. “But you know this place.”
My eyes widen in disbelief. Modron stood in the front row the crowd. How in the world..
“Listen carefully.” The child whispered.
The wind blow furiously as the knights brought the woman in front of Modron and two very well dressed couple.  “I’ll ask you once more Grandmother, where is the stone?” The dark haired bearded stranger roared.
He’s under a spell! I glanced towards the child.
“No, he is pure evil.” the child said sadden.
“I told you before I will never tell you, John.”  She said in a bold tone.
“Foolish woman.”  A young blonde woman said.
“No, you are the foolish one.” She gave her an icy stare.
“Those whom marry into your family shall be cursed.” A bright aura surrounded this woman.
“Your words does not frighten me, Grandmother.”
“Oh you should John, for each night haunting green eyes shall visit you.”
“We have our mystic to break any curse, Grandmother.”
“No mystic can break this curse,” Silver aura surrounded her. “Only those connected to me shall break this curse.” She gave Modron a glare, “You’re power is unless in this time.”
“Enough get rid of her!” He roared, then towards Modron. “We can find the stone without her.”
My eyes widen. No, they weren’t going to..
The hood man came forwards, his expression was acidic  as he brought her towards the gallows.
I took one deep breath, eying the rope I let the arrow find its target. The arrow ripped through the air, piercing the rope. A thick mist form around the gallows she vanished, leaving the couple stunned. Modron turned towards my way. I meet his shock green eyes I heard someone calling me in the distance.
My eyes opened.
“Hey there, my sweet.” A friendly male voice said.
My eyes widen. What was William Scotts doing here?  I glanced around the office. The dark brown leather sofa was unfamiliar to me. The solitary illumination from the window blind behind the large antique desk.   “Nicholas.” I said bewildered. “What happened to me?
He kept his face expression unreadable, “You had an accident, my dear Verona.” The lie came easy.
Oh, you got to be joking!  I met his dark eyes. William Scotts never once called me his dear. “Why here?”
“This place was closer.” Why hadn’t she gone under his trance.
My eyes narrow, “Who are you?” Pure energy shot up from my hand.
“What the h…!” He jumped an inch away from her. “You’re one of them?”
The door flew open, Mordred and two huge heavy-armed, well-built men, entered. I could not help, noticed their swords.
“Well, we’re in time for the party.” the  blond  haired male with blue eyes said with a strong Irish accent.
“Careful Tristan, she has fire.” the dark haired, male mumbled.
“Geoffrey, you know the rules if we find food we share.” Mordred’s eyes were glowing a golden color.
My eyes widen, his two companions gave a dumbfounded expression.
Merlin where are you?
He cannot hear you. Mordred eyes said.
Geoffrey formed a black smoke and disappeared.
“Da…”  another stranger cursed, while his two friends glanced towards the woman, whom wore a familiar cloak. If she was, whom she claimed to be nothing was not lost.
“Breathe Mother.”Mordred said coming next to me.
“How can I?”Blue flames shot through my finger tips . “I am not trained in magic.”
“Sh**!” Without thinking he placed his hands upon her right hand. He’ll either become a roasted duck or turn into ashes. But instead, he felt a cool breezes surrounding them.
In a golden meadow an imagine of a woman, in a turquoise blue dress appeared. “Those whom connected to my child shall be protected by her guardian.” A griffin appeared before him.
The blue flame subsided. “Nicholas.” There was a warm glow around us.
“Mord, are you okay?” Tristan asked, next to him. “Lady, if you have harm my dear old friend, me and my two cousins will …”
“Do not mess with her, Tristan.” the one with jet black hair said staring towards me. “Look at her necklace.
“My goddess!” Tristan exclaimed.
“Depends, on who you think I am.” I glanced towards the two men.
“She is.” Mordred interrupted her.
Pure energy surrounded him, his disguised was well shielded, as the other men.
“Then she is..” Tristan trailed off, his older friend stepped forwards.
“Lady Guinevere.” His green eyes held sadness, “You are lovely as your mother, Sarah.”
I glanced into his weary paled face, an eerie feeling came over me.
“Remember a forgotten memory, Dear child.” A distance voice said.
“Guinevere, you must always know whom to trust.” I heard the younger male say.
“Oh, Uncle Gibson.” I heard myself say, “You will always be my friend.”
“Someday, you will think differently, my dear.” he said with a faraway look.
I  turned towards the dark forest, a dark hooded figure was forming.
“You cannot save them, Verona.” An eerie voice echoed.
Mordred felt a distance presence in his office. His hands went to her shoulders, but she did not respond.
“Verona Rose!” a stranger said in the entrance way.
“You.” Tristan glared towards the strange with piercing blue eyes.
I glanced towards the six-foot one, red-haired, medium built man. “Where are we, Nicholas?”
The stranger gave a puzzle look towards his cousin’s comment and the outfit she wore.
“We’re in my private office.” Mordred said in a sober tone.
My eyes widen, “How?”
“I’ll explain later.” He glanced towards the much older man. “Why are you in my club, Bailey?”

Okay, I leaving this Chapter before I decide to delete more paragraphs. Now, onward to the next Chapter.

My Writing: Chapter 19 Finally

Okay, after reading and editing this chapter I can finally move to the next the chapter.  I felt like I was going round in circles. For one thing  five paragraphs were giving me a headache. I had to delete and rewrite  the paragraphs.

Anyway, I think I am finished with this Chapter for the time being. But never know with me, I might decide to add or delete sentences.

Chapter 19: Present Time
While Verona rested in his private office, Mordred and his acquaintance were in a deep conversation in his chief office. Where he met with his business colleague.
“You haven’t said who this woman was, Mordred.” The hooded male said with a strong, rugged accent.
His cloak may have covered his facial expression now but Mordred knew his allied was frustrated.
“My real mother,” Mordred met his black eyes. “Aaron, you’ve known her as another.”
His eyes widen slightly in surprise. How did he know this?  His connection to Verona was a well kept secret.
“Mordred, there’s trouble in your secret office.” The blond haired male said from  the door, “Geoffrey is with your friend.”
Who granted him entrance to my private office? “Da***t!  Come on, Tristan.” Mordred said, “Aaron, find out why Modron appeared in Sherwood.” He realized his mistake too late.
Grr! A low growl came out from him. No one never dared to give him orders since his existence. Those whom knew of him feared his presence. His eyes darken, he’ll make an exception this one time. (Okay, this paragraph is still  bugging me after reading once more. But I’ll leave it alone for now.)
****
My heart thumps faster, I had to leave this icy dark tunnel. How do I get it out? I thought, light breeze on my arm. A child with dark wavy hair appeared before me.
“You must discover the truth.” The child said. Her eyes were a dark charcoal color. “And the oath they have  lived.”
A very cold mist formed I now found myself in this strange courtyard. Huntingdon Manor?  Would Merlin hear me. I questioned. Merlin help me.
“This is not Nottingham, Verona.” The youngster said beside me. “But you know this place.”
I glanced around my environment, a mahogany flag with a black griffin was flapping in the current of air. Pure hot pain shot through my right arm, my breath quicken. I peeked towards the oak trees.  Something dark and sinister was lurking there. I moved in a little closer, a crowd was gathering there now.
Three well established men with swords by their side entered the courtyard with a middle aged auburn haired, she wore an elegant sea green ball gown which looked disheveled. I sensed something strong within in her.
My eyes widen in disbelief. There in the front of two well dressed couple stood Modron. How in the world..
“Listen and watch closely.” The child whispered.
The wind up as the knights brought the woman in front of Modron.  He did not speak, the furious five foot seven, medium well-built blonde-haired, bearded man in the stylish dark color clothing did.
“I’ll ask you once more Grandmother,”
I noticed the dark aura settle within him. He’s under a spell.
No, his kind was pure evil. the child said sadden
 “Where is the stone?”
“As I said before I will never tell you, John,”
“Foolish woman.”  A young blonde woman said.
“No, you are the foolish one.” She gave her an icy stare. “For those who marry into this family shall be cursed.”
I could not help notice the bright aura around this woman.
“Your words hold no significance to me, Grandmother.”
“Oh, it should, John.” There was power in her voice.  “For each night haunting green eyes shall visit you.”
“We have our mystic to break any curse, Grandmother.”
“No mystic can break this curse,” The aura which surrounded her shone brightly, “Only those connected to me shall break this curse.” She gave Modron a cold glare, “You’re power is unless in this time.
“Enough. Get rid of her!” He roared, then towards Modron. “We can find the stone without her.”
My eyes widen. No, they weren’t going to..
The hood man came forwards, his expression was acidic  as he placed the noose around her neck.
The bow and arrow were in my hands, I took one deep breath, eyed the rope over her head and shot. The arrow ripped through the air, piercing the rope. A thick mist form around her as she vanished, leaving the couple stunned. Modron turned quickly towards my way. I meet his shock green eyes, before I heard someone calling me in the distance.(Okay, this paragraph is still bugging me. I wanted to do more showing than telling. But I will leave it alone for now.)
My eyes slowly open.
“Hey there, my sweet.” A friendly male voice said.
My eyes widen, What was my employer William Scotts doing here?  I  glanced around the office. The dark brown leather sofa was unfamiliar to me. The solitary illumination from the window blind behind the large antique desk said it was day time.   “Nicholas.” I said, bewildered. “What happened to me?
He kept his face expression unreadable, “You had an accident, my dear Verona.” The lie came easy. He was a master of manipulation, this woman would be no different from the others.
Oh, you got to be joking!  I met his dark eyes. William Scotts never once called me his dear. My right hand tingled a bit, “Why am I not in a hospital?”
“This place was closer.” Why hadn’t she gone under his trance.
My eyes narrow, “Who or what are you?” Pure energy shot up from my hand.
“What the h…!” He jumped an inch away from her. “You’re one of them?”
The door flew open, Mordred and two huge heavy-armed, well-built men, entered. I could not help, noticed the sword, they carried. One was of a wolf and the other was of a griffin.
“Well, looks like we’re just in time for the party.” the  blond  haired male with blue eyes said with a strong Irish accent.
“Careful Tristan, she has fire.” the dark haired, male mumbled.
“Geoffrey, it’s not a polite to take, something that is not yours.” Mordred’s eyes were glowing a golden color. “You know the rules if we find food we all share.”
My eyes widen, his two companions gave a dumbfounded expression.
Don’t you dare faint Mother. M-Nicholas eyes warned.
“Oh no, I will not.” I answered back, “I suggest y’all back off. Unless y’all what to be burnt toast as the old hag in Sherwood Forest.”
No, she was not talking about Maggie? He narrowed his eyes, “What did Merlin do to her?”
“Watch it Mord, she has flames within her.” Tristan said.
She will not harm me. I heard him say.
“Oh no, not Merlin.” I said, “It was this mysterious woman.”
“What did she say?” Tristan asked softly. He knew his enemies’ method of manipulating and confusing its’ victims. But this woman was not impressed by his ability. No, there’s something powerful within her.
My eyes glared towards him, “Why should I trust you?”
“You can, my lady.” He said in a quiet, almost whispered tone.
“Anyone who comes to the Forest Spirit will be vanished by its guardian.” The flame rose within my hand. Pain shot through my arm, making it hard to breathe.
Merlin where are you?
He cannot hear you in this time. Mordred’s eyes seemed to say.
Geoffrey formed a black smoke and disappeared.
“Da…”  another stranger cursed, while his two friends glanced towards the woman, whom wore a familiar cloak. If she was, whom she claimed to be all was not lost.
“Breathe Mother.”Mordred said coming next to me.
“How can I?”I felt the fire all at once. “I am not trained in magic.”
“Sh**!” Without thinking he placed his cold hands upon her right hand. He’ll either become a roasted duck or turn into ashes. But instead, he felt a cool breezes surrounding them.
In a golden meadow an imagine of a woman, in a turquoise blue dress appeared. “Those whom connected to my child shall be protected by my guardian.” A griffin appeared before him.
The blue flame subsided my palm.
“Look at her stone in her necklace.
“My goddess!” Tristan exclaimed.
“Depending on whom you think I am.” I glanced towards the two men “Besides, why should I trust y’all?”
“She is.” Mordred interrupted her.
I felt pure energy surrounding him, his disguised was well shielded, as the other men.
“Then that would make her..” Tristan trailed off, his older friend stepped forwards.
“Lady Guinevere.” His green eyes held sadness, “You are as beautiful as your mother, Sarah.”
I glanced into his weary paled face, my hair on my arm rose up.
Remember a forgotten memory, Dear child. A distance voice said.
“Guinevere, you must always know whom to trust.” the younger male said to me.
“Oh, Uncle Gibson.” I heard myself say, “You will always be my truest friend.”
“Someday, you will think differently my dear.” he said with a faraway look.
I slowly turned towards the dark forest, a dark hooded figure was forming.
“You cannot save them, Verona.” An eerie voice echoed.
Mordred felt a distance presence in his office. He placed his hands on Verona shoulders, she did not respond.
“Verona Rose snap out of it this instant!” a male voice said in the door entrance way. doorway.
“You.” Tristan glared towards the strange with piercing blue eyes.

Okay, I wanted to make this chapter a little intriguing with more clues to Verona’s identity, which may  surprise to Merlin, when he decides to make an appearance. I also wanted to add a new character, who knows a lot about Verona and Merlin.

Now, I am saying good-bye Chapter 19.  Onward towards my next chapter, before I find something wrong with this chapter and start deleting paragraphs again.

Have a great weekend.  🙂

My Writing: Chapter 15

Okay, I have to admit my first original rough draft did not have this Chapter. I was not a happy camper when I realized this, I had to go through all my notes and other rough drafts looking for this chapter.

Oh yes, every single notes and rough drafts, I have is saved in a folder. The just in case, I accidentally delete the Chapter into the recycle bin, which in my case has happened a few times in the past.   Anyway, I think I will leave this Chapter a lone for now. Unless, I read it once more. But never know with me.

Chapter 15: Forest Of Nightmares
I was a bit puzzled by her comment. I probably misunderstood her. I thought, as we entered the dark, eerie, and slippery tunnel. I could not shake this eerie feeling of being watched.   Not to mention Merlin was too quiet.
Hmm..,. Maybe he was mad at me. For some unknown reason. I thought nervously.(Okay, this paragraph is bugging me a bit. I want to do more showing  not telling. )
He took a sharp breath and turned towards her. “No, I am not anger with you, Verona.” he said pulling her closer to him, in a protective way. “We must be cautious from here on.”
His eyes focus on the dark eerie forest now. There was danger here, Morganna had seen to this. He had never seen her pets, but he’d heard the sounds of an unearthly creatures.
Are you sure it’s her, whom placed the spell? A female voice echoed.
Goose bumps spread over my arms.  A sharp burning hot pain ran over my right forearm. I glanced back towards the tunnel entrance once more. An image of fire and rocks falling around the entrance came to my mind.
Oh my heavens! She blocked the tunnel. I blinked, the tunnel entrance was still intact.
Damn, what was she thinking! Her brown eyes had a haunting look with tears in them now.
“Mer..”  I  stopped, I felt something familiar.
“Verona!” A  familiar  female voice echoed into the wind.
The unknown presence approached quickly. He placed his hands upon her shoulders and pulled her closer towards him. “Listen good to me, Verona.” he said in a serious tone, “You must believe in yourself. No matter what comes your way.”
“Why do I have this feeling this was goodbye?” My heart was breaking.
“No, my love.”  he said lowering his lips onto mine, I felt something surround us,  then dizziness come over me.
“Be brave my love.” he said, “I will find you again.”
I will find you!  His words echoed now. My Head was pounding. ( Okay, I might have to rewrite this paragraph. I wanted to show more.)
Good morning, it’s seven o’clock!” The radio announcer exclaimed.  I jumped up from my bed, I slapped the snooze button. The ray of light was shining through my curtain, I stared for a moment. What was I doing in my old bedroom.  Oh no, does this mean I was back in my adopted parents’ home. . Something was off, I could not put my finger on what.
No, this is where the nightmares begin for you. A haunting voice echoed.
A phone was ringing in the distance. I heard someone answer
A second later, there was knocked on my door.
“Verona, are you up yet.” A woman said, in a harsh tone.”You’re going to be late for school.”
“I will be down in a second.” I dragged myself out of my bed, in a dreamlike trance. Why did the floor feel soft as grass? An eerie feeling came over me. I stopped at my bedroom door.  What did I do last night? I tried to remember, nothing came to mind. Oh no! My heart started to beat a little faster.
Stay focus, Verona. A distance voice echoed.
I opened my bedroom door to a shock. What in the world! I was now, in my classroom. A strange fair skinned, short blonde haired woman,  sat at the desk. “You’re late,”  she said in a serious tone. “Please read your writing assignment to the class.”  (Okay, I will have to rewrite the description of this new character.)
My writing assignment! Fear came over me, I realized what she was talking about. Oh no, How could I have forgotten my poem!
A light breeze touched my arms. Wait a minute, Why was I afraid? I haven’t been in school, for twenty-one years.
Was this some kind of trick? My eyes narrowed towards the mysterious woman.  “Who are you?” I asked in a sober tone. Then a thought occurred to me. Where was Merlin!
Her eyes widen in disbelief. No one had ever broken her enchantment spell. She had made sure of this.  Her green eyes narrowed. “You may have seen through my illusion, but…” Trailed off her enchantment spell was fading.
I felt pure energy form a circle round us. Then I heard a familiar voice.
“What is real be shown!” Merlin knew only one who could manipulate the elements.
The classroom transformed into a golden  forest with green grass surrounding us. I glance towards Merlin whom glared towards woman’s green eyes narrowed. Was it shock!
Merlin pulled me into his arms before she could speak. “Easy, Verona.”  One of Maggie favorite things were to drain her victims energy as she was doing now.
“Merlin, I do not understand.” I felt over welled suddenly.
“This is an illusion.” He said in a sober tone.
“Oh, I am no illusion Merlin.” The blonde haired woman said in a cold voice. “I am your worst, nightmare.”  No, matter how hard she tried  her spells  could not manipulate this strange woman.
Her threat gave me goose bumps, I did not show my fear. I kept my feeling well hidden.
“Who is she, Merlin?”  she said in a bold tone. “She was not your usual type?”
“No, Maggie.” He said, in a sober tone, “I am surprised Morganna did not tell you.”
I turned towards Merlin as something tough my arms. I turned in to find an old hag beside me. Her green eyes were sinister.  My hand began to tingle, blue flame shot up from my right palm. Everything around us, suddenly became bright.
“Touch the Forest’s Spirit and be destroyed by its’ Guardian.” a distance voice echoed.
My hand went up, the blue flames formed a bow and arrow. Next thing I knew the arrow went through blonde and old hag. Merlin had a grim expression.
“No!” She exclaimed withering away before our eyes. The only thing that was left of her was a puddle of melt yellow clay.
My goddess, I had no idea you were capable of  sorcery. He mumbled, a curse that  sounded Dammit Sarah, You do not say this either. Forest’s Guardian then that would make her…
How could he say capable of sorcery! My right hand was on fire, pure energy flow through my palm. “Merlin, a little help here! I felt very weak suddenly. “How do I stop it!”
Damn, you’re not trained in magic.  His hands come over mine with a light pressure, His touch and a cool breeze touch skin. I glanced into his blue eyes, they were midnight blue now.
Without saying a word his lips were upon mine for a brief second, before an evil laughter came from behind the tall oak tree.

Okay, I wanted to reveal one of Verona’s secret, which was a surprise to Merlin.  Now, I am moving on to my next Chapter, before I decide to rewrite a few paragraphs once more.
